Relax with family steps away from Lake Christopher in our quirky A-frame. On a corner of a cove, water wraps three-quarters around the property, providing lake views from all sides. Canoe and kayaks come with the rental. It’s close to hiking, biking and skiing, making it the perfect basecamp for your western Maine adventures. A spacious kitchen and living space with three small bedrooms. The house is perfect for 4-5 adults or two small families. The space You enter the house through a small covered deck and go up 1/2 flight of stairs. To the left and right are small bedrooms and a bathroom. Walk down the hall into a cozy TV den with games, comfy couch and big bean bag. After a long day of skiing or biking, the kids can relax (out of the way) while you cook dinner! When you enter the large part of the A-frame, there is a spacious living room with a wrap-around couch. A large dining table can seat two families (8 people) comfortably. The open kitchen allows the cook to visit with guests as dinner is prepared. Large windows wrap around giving 270-degree views of the lake! You can’t find a better view. SLEEPING: Bedroom #1: Family room with one queen bed and one full bed with lake views. Sleeps 2-3 adults or small family. Bedroom #2: Kid twin bunk bed. Sleeps one adult on bottom bunk or two kids with top bunk. There is an extra twin mattress to accommodate a third kid on floor. Sleeps 1 adult or up to three kids. Bedroom #3: Steep stairs lead to a queen bed in the A-frame loft, private bath. Sleeps 2 adults. NOTE: We do not recommend small children sleep upstairs; the loft stairs are steep. There is a bathroom upstairs so guests do not need to walk down the steep stairs in the middle of the night. Bedding: sheets, duvets and towels are 100% cotton or linen. Winter comforters are down. COOKING: This is our personal camp and I’m a professional spice blender—enjoy our chef’s kitchen, including commercial grade cookware (le creuset Dutch ovens, roasting pans, skillets) and all small appliances you should need (food processor, blender, immersion blender, rice cooker, slow cooker, coffee grinder). We have cocktail making tools, too! The lake house is stocked with olive oil, vinegars, butter, spices and other basic condiments. The cabinet has basic sugar and flour. You are welcome to make sure of anything you need. NEW Summer 2023: We added an easy to use espresso machine! NOTE: We provide a large water cooler of spring water for drinking. Use tap water for washing; do not drink. There is no AC. We have fans in all bedrooms and in the main room. If you open the windows and turn the fans on, the cross breeze will cool the house down responsibly well. SUMMER: There are two decks on either side of the house to enjoy, with the back deck providing gorgeous views down the full length of the lake and of Mt. Christopher cliffs. Behind the house is an outdoor fireplace. Dry wood is provided in the alcove between house and garage. There is a long dock that enters the water on the protected cove side. The water is shallow with a rocky bottom, making this a good location for children. The end of the dock is 5’ deep. At the left corner of property is a very shallow, sandy cove. My kids love to play here; it’s about 1-foot deep. We provide: -3 x children sit-on kayaks -1 x adult kayak -2 x adult sit-on kayaks -2 x canoe -1 x stand-up paddle board -1 paddle boat -life jackets of all sizes from infant to adult. Life jackets are required to be worn for children 12 and under while in a watercraft. WINTER: During the winter, expect to see ice fishing on the lake. Late December has fabulous ice skating before the snow arrives. PROPERTY BEST SUITED FOR: The lake house is set-up to accommodate one or two small families. (Max 4-5 adults). Adult couples can each take the two main bedrooms with kids in the small bunk room and/or the floor mattresses. Guest access You will have access to the entire house and property. NOTE: This is our personal property which we use frequently. You will see some of our personal items like pantry staples, games and books. You are welcome to use what you find in the house. Other things to note DRINKING WATER: We provide drinking water during your stay. It’s located in a large water cooler in the kitchen. Being this close to the lake with an old water system, the water out of the tap has discoloring and sediment. If you need additional water during your stay, just let us know. Note: We cook and shower with the tap water. LATE CHECKOUT: We will happily provide late checkout for free as long as we know ahead of time and there are no conflicts. PARKING: There is enough room for two cars comfortably. Additional cars can be parked at the top of the driveway.
