This unique little home is a great mix of country and city. It has been fully renovated. It sits on 19 acres next to my home and home office in the country and is also just a short drive to several stores and destinations. The inside is finished but the outside is still a work in progress. There is still a nice vibe outside and a hangout area with a fire pit. The house sits in the country but off a fairly busy road. I live next door so if you need anything I can accommodate quickly. The space Bedroom #1 has a queen size bed Bedroom #2 has bunk beds with a full size mattress on bottom and a twin size mattress on top. The couch does not have a pull out bed but sleeps 1 person very comfortably. Extra blankets and pillows are available upon request. I have pretty cool design plans for the left outside hangout area. However, because of how many people have brought their furbabies on vacation, I decided to add temporary fencing so that your furbabies have a convenient and safe area to go potty and hangout. This area is accessible from the front yard as well as bedroom #1. This way, if your furbabies wake you up with a full bladder, you can open the bedroom door and conveniently let them go potty without needing to leash them up (unless they are small enough to fit through the metal front fencing). It isn't the classiest looking fencing, but it is temporary and adds convenience for guests in the meantime. My property line ends behind the home and that is where my neighbors property begins. Feel free to use any of the area in front of the Oliver for parking and hanging out. Most of my acreage is located behind my home on the other side. The neighbors home is on top of the hill so they are a good distance away. However, their driveway runs alongside the edge of the parcel where the Oliver is located so they might be alarmed to see people walking around that area. The creek divides our land so anything on the other side of the creek is technically trespassing on his property. Sidenote: you might hear gunshots occasionally. Because we live in the country, any gunshots you hear are either the neighbor (a retired police officer) doing target practice or me and my crew doing target practice in a designated safe area far away from the Oliver. Or it might be a blank shot to scare off a coon or possum if they get too close to my outdoor cats. It is rare and is always done in a safe environment by trained permitted carriers. I hear my retired officer neighbor maybe once a month or so doing target practice. It is usually only a few rounds and mid-day on a Saturday. The neighbors are sweet as pie and not nosey. If you need additional parking, I have plenty of land for parking. Just ask me and I'll point you in the right direction. Also, there is plenty of room if you have a trailer or something in tow. The cameras on the property are mainly focused on my she shed and the parking lot to ensure my tools and people's vehicles are covered in case of anything happening. The footage is not monitored but is available if ever needed as I have no intention of invading anyones privacy. For any traveling nurses, night shift workers, etc... I do have blackout curtains available upon request. Please give me a heads up on those as I do not have the curtain rods hung but they can be in a matter of minutes as soon as I know which windows would need them. The windows are all brand new have very nice blinds installed. Also, if you need white noise or a fan to sleep, I have those available as well. Guest access We ask that you do not host any late night parties or any parties that encourage heavy drinking where guests may get overly wild. However, feel free to enjoy yourself and have a fun time. We just ask that you be mindful of the few neighbors we have and be respectful of the property. Other things to note PET FRIENDLY!!! We love animals and during my travels, I have experienced the inconveniences that can come with finding pet friendly places to stay. I don't have a particular pet policy in place per se. I just ask that you be mindful of your pets and keep them safe from the road and from attacking my outdoor cats that may roam the area from time to time. My outdoor furbabies usually stay on my side of the property next to my office, but since I've spent a lot of time at the Oliver working, they will sometimes venture over there looking for me. For anyone who has pet allergies, I do sanitize and do a deep clean in between guests. If your allergies are severe, you may want to keep that into consideration when booking. While I use high end earth friendly products and a Dyson vacuum to clean, there still may be some allergens in the air that I am unable to secure. There is an air purifier located in the living room that stays on 24/7. If you break something, life happens. Every material item is replaceable. Just let me know and I probably have backup in one of the many buildings. If you plan on cooking and need more items than what you see in the pictures, feel free to send me a list. I have extra crock pots, pots and pans, etc... I'm happy to lend anything I have rather than you having to overpack your car with things. Doordash and Uber Eats deliver to this address as well as several pizza places. There are some games located in the living room. Puzzles and cards as well. The kitchen table has a runner on it but there are placemats located under the kitchen sink. Each nightstand has a plug with chargers for both Apple and Android phones already plugged in and ready for use. Cleaning supplies are located under the kitchen sink. The kitchen countertop, the dining room table and the shelves in the bathroom are all butcher block. Cleaning conditioner and a cleaning cloth are located under the kitchen sink for the butcher block as well. While the outdoor side patio is still a work in progress, there will be a broom and dustpan mounted on the wall. As always, I just ask that you be mindful of the neighbors and keep the volume at a reasonable level (especially after 10/11pm-ish). There are extra outdoor chairs on the patio of my she-shed you are welcome to use for guests if needed. I also have a projector and an inflatable screen you are welcome to use- just let me know and I'll make it accessible to you. The front of the Oliver has two electrical outlets and I have extension cords available. We are in the country so regardless of how much pest control I use, there will be an occasional spider or insect that pops up to say hello. If you have a special occasion and would like something setup in advance, feel free to send a message and I'll accommodate the best I can. I have several refrigerators at my house if you need to hide a birthday cake etc... I also have an embarrassing amount of coolers if you need one to use for day trips to the local attractions. There is a trash bin located on the porch of my she-shed. Feel free to place loose trash in that bin. There is a large trash bin located on the side of the she-shed for bagged trash. We do not have trash pickup. All trash is manually taken to the convenience site located at 3836 NC 18-S which is a couple miles down the street. If you prefer to take your own trash away, they are open: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 6:30am-6:00pm, Saturday 8am-4pm, closed Wed & Sun and holidays usually have different hours. Otherwise, feel free to let me know if the trash needs emptied and I'm more than happy to haul it off- especially if you book a long term stay. It will be emptied between each guest. Please note, the land behind the Oliver is the beginning of my neighbors property. I own several acres but the majority of my acreage is on the other side of the area behind my home and office. Please read the information/rules book provided on the entryway table. There is a lot of useful information about the property and the local area. I do ask that you not partake in any gem mining or remove any stones, minerals or materials from the the property. My she shed aka "the Firefly" is located next to the Oliver. I occasionally need things out of there but will not come over unless I message first and ask if it is ok and let you know to expect me. There is no laundry on site. However, I always have fresh towels and linens ready and available. Feel free to message if you need to swap out dirty for clean- especially for long term stays. In most cases, if you have personal laundry that needs to be done and don't mind people and pets, you are more that welcome to use my laundry machine in my personal house. It is located right inside the mudroom door and we can make it available quickly. We are a pretty friendly bunch and won't bother you. All of my animals are super friendly.
