The space Step back in time and experience the authentic charm of this adorable early 1900's mining cabin, now a perfect retreat for couples, small families, or friends looking for a cozy getaway. Nestled in a tranquil setting at the base of majestic book cliff mountains, named after Kenilworth Castle by British miners, Kenilworth is considered an "occupied ghost town", still sporting a population of about 180 people. In its coal mining heydays in 1947, Kenilworth reached its peak population of 1,050. This 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom home features an open floor plan that maximizes space and comfort, offering all the modern amenities you need to relax and enjoy a delightful stay. The Space: Historic Charm: Built in 1920, our cabin retains its original stone foundation and rustic character, giving you a true taste of the area's mining history. Living Area: Relax on the comfortable sofa, which pulls out to a queen size bed, enjoy a movie on the flat-screen Smart TV, or unwind with a good book in front of the electric fireplace. Fully Equipped Kitchen: Cook up your favorite meals in the well stocked kitchen, featuring modern appliances, a dining table for four, and all the cookware and utensils you need. Two Cozy Bedrooms: Master Bedroom: A serene retreat with a comfortable queen-sized bed, soft linens, blackout curtains, phone chargers, and ample storage. Second Bedroom: A cozy space with a queen-sided bed, blackout curtains, phone chargers, and Smart TV. Sofa Bed: The sofa pulls out to a comfortable Queen bed. There are linens and pillows in the armoire. Bathroom: The modern bathroom includes a shower, fresh towels, and essential toiletries. *Note* the bathroom must be accessed through the master bedroom. Guests have full access to the entire home and outdoor areas. We provide a self-check-in process for your convenience. PARKING: Parking is available in the paved driveway or in front of the property. There is enough space if you are hauling a trailer with your outdoor toys! *To conserve water, we allow a wild high desert landscape. PLEASE NOTE: We have friendly neighbors who enjoy collecting various items. While their properties may have an assortment of vehicles and belongings, they are kind and welcoming. We appreciate your understanding and focus on the comfort and charm of your stay! USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN ACCESSING THE FIREPIT! There is a slight hill and the rock steps can be wobbly. FRAGRANCE SENSITIVITIES: We strive to keep our home fresh and inviting using natural cleaners like Mrs. Meyer's and vinegar as well as fragrance- and dye-free laundry detergent for those with sensitivities. However, we also use plug-in air fresheners and provide bathroom spray and dryer sheets for guests who enjoy scents. If you prefer a scent-free environment, please request plug-in removal before your stay, and we’ll ensure your space is prepared accordingly during cleaning! SECURITY CAMERAS: Please note, we do have exterior security cameras for the safety of our guests and because care for our property deeply.
