Tar Island Cottage Getaway
Relax in the sun this summer at this private 3 bedroom cottage on beautiful Tar Island with the best view of the Thousand Islands. The cottage is only accessible by boat. You must have water transportation to get to the cottage. There are no roads/cars on Tar Island. (please view details under “where you’ll be”) Please make sure you are aware of all US/Canada Boarder policies prior to booking. If you are coming from the US please make sure to check the Canadian boarder crossing requirements. The space The Cottage has three bedrooms: a furnished master bedroom outfitted with knotty pine and a private sliding glass door to the front deck, a second bedroom with a full bed, and the third with a bunk bed (two twin mattresses). The Kitchen is fully loaded with cooking supplies and has a full range, double sink, drinking water dispenser, two refrigerators and a nook to the dining area. The Living Room has two comfy sofas, cable TV and a panoramic view of the river. A wood-burning stove nestled in the corner is more than enough to warm the whole cottage even on the chilliest of nights. Portable electric baseboard heaters are available for use as well in every room. The Bathroom was recently remodeled with a full tub and shower. The Porch is fully screened-in and encased in knotty pine with a panoramic view of the river. Front and Back Deck: Large front deck with table and umbrella. Small back deck for grilling and sunsets. A Private Dock secures your boat(s) and leads to a private flat grassy area along the riverbank complete with lounge chairs and a small fire pit. The Yard is large flat grassy/sandy area suitable for outdoor games. Guest access You will have access to everything except the shed and pump house (for the safety of our guests). Other things to note DO NOT DRINK or cook with the water from the faucets. There is a drinking water dispenser next to the kitchen faucet employing a reverse osmosis filtration system. Be advised that the water coming from the dispenser will be luke-warm for the first few seconds. HOT WATER IS EXTREMELY HOT!!! Use extreme caution when setting the water temperature at all faucets and especially in the shower. For those crossing the border, fret not: there is clear signal from American cellular providers from the island.
