This spacious home is designed for privacy, and yet offers communal living space for family togetherness. Two en suite master bedrooms each with private decks offer luxury, comfort, and private repose. This beautiful river front property is surrounded by nature and only a short stroll to the breathtaking and energizing Chirripo river, where you can dip in calm waters, take in the sun, and rest on warm river rocks. The surrounding gardens are a tropical paradise with fruit trees, mountain flowers, and a wide variety of tropical flora and fauna. The back yard offers raised vegetable gardens, a few steps from the house, that guests are welcome to harvest. Typical weather consists of warm sunny mornings, cloudy mystical afternoons, and cool starry nights. This idyllic climate hosts breathtaking mountain views, endless trails to waterfalls, and friendly locals. Guest access Guests have full access to the entire property, apart from our personal residence near by. All guests can freely enjoy the vegetable gardens and fruit trees, as well as the stunning stone stairs that wind lazily through the garden down to the river side. River access is a short easy walk. Other things to note The 'Rio Chirripo' is a fast flowing mountain river. It may not be accessible or suitable for swimming outside of the summer months (January to July). Children should always be accompanied and supervised by the river and on the property at all times. The house is a 3 and a half hour scenic drive from San Jose without stops and traffic. It gets dark around 6:00pm year round in Costa Rica and it is not advisable to drive, especially the mountain roads, in the dark. Please allow yourself enough time to clear immigration and customs, to collect your rental car, and to do any grocery shopping. It is advised to spend the first night in San Jose and not attempt to arrive here on the same day as arrival if your flight arrives in the afternoon. Driving with fresh energy in tne morning is highly recommended. Although the roads are easily accessible to the house, we recommend renting a 4x4 vehicle to get around. If you are using Waze or Google Maps please remember that you should not take any shortcuts along dirt roads, until you arrive in Canaan de Rivas. Please also note that the nearest ATM is 15 minutes away in Rivas and nearest gas station is located in San Isidro (30 minutes from the house).
