Most houses in Granada charge you separately for electricity. We don't. Please see our Electrical consumption policy under "Other details to note." ** == Best Location in Granada == Casa Blanca is the best located home in Granada. Situated at the top end of the pedestrianised Calle La Calzada the home is right next door to Granada's famous cathedral and just steps from the bustling central park. == Accommodations == The home features five bedrooms in the following arrangement - A 2nd floor en-suite master bedroom, with a king-size bed. - Two double bedrooms each with a queen-size bed and en-suite bathroom. - One family suite which is two connected rooms; one has a queen bed and the other a two single beds. . The twin bed room in the family suite doubles up as a TV room. NOTE: these rooms share one AC unit. For the two single beds to be cooled, the door connecting the two spaces has to be open. - The fifth bedroom located beyond the kitchen on the ground floor is suitable for a live in nanny or maid and has a single bed, private bathroom. This room has no AC but has an overhead fan. The living areas are organized around the extensive corridors. The main corridor features an antique rocking chair and coffee table set comfortably laid out beneath a powerful ceiling fan. There is another more relaxed seating area situated the opposite end of the pool to the main dining area. CHECK-IN PROCEDURE: If you decide to use our management company, GPS, for transportation service, they will deliver you directly to the house and check you in at Casa Blanca. If you use another service, then someone will wait for you at the house to let you in then after you're settled in please go to GPS’s office to check-in and then the GPS staff will let you into the house and give you the tour. Part of the check-in process includes the reading of the electric meter. If you arrive at a time that the GPS office is closed (i.e. late at night) we can still give you access to the house but we ask that you check-in with GPS the next time their office opens. Their office hours are Mon- Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday 9am to 2pm and Sunday 9am to 12 pm. Other things to note INCLUSIVE FEES – Rates includes linen & towel setup, maid service, Internet, laundry. Amenity fees are included in the rental rate. Toilet paper, towel paper and soaps are provided for one week. Longer rentals should get their own supplies. ELECTRIC DEPOSIT - Electric costs in Nicaragua are EXTREMELY HIGH; greater than $.50 per KW hr (the highest in Central America and 4X the US average). 15% of your rental rate is applied towards payment of electrical usage. Your meter will be read upon check-in and check-out and any excess over 15% of your rent will be taken from your deposit. (For example: if you are paying $1,000.00 in rent, you have $150 in credit towards electricity. If the meter reads less than $150 used you owe nothing and receive your deposit back. If the meter reads $160 in electric costs, $10 would be taken from your deposit.) The Homeowners are not responsible for temporary electric and water shut-offs by the city and cannot be held accountable. FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS – Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check in. A SECURITY DEPOSIT BOX is located at the property for your use. If you choose to use the lock box, a $50.00 CASH deposit to GPS is required for the key. This key must be returned to the GPS office in order to retrieve your deposit. WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS – Any exceptions to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance. TRAVEL INSURANCE – We highly recommend all guests purchase travel insurance. If you wish to purchase travel insurance, go to www.InsureMyTrip.com for details and to purchase. POOL SERVICE will be provided three times per week. Renters will be advised as to when the service will be provided and must allow the pool maintenance person into the house. The pool maintenance person, as well as rest of the staff, has ID so you can allow entrance to the house when needed. CLEANING SERVICE is provided as part of the rental. These services are provided from Monday to Saturday. In the event that you would like to reduce the days of cleaning, please inform the GPS office. Cleaning must be done at least three days per week in order to maintain the house at a level of cleanliness expected of a GPS property. The unit is privately owned; Guillermo Suescum and/or Melanie Hughes are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities.
