Mountaintop Cabin - Stunning View! Great Wi-Fi
Mountaintop privacy, yet only 5 miles to town. At nearly 4,000 Ft elevation, take advantage of the comfort, serenity and breathtaking views of this private, peaceful mountain cabin. Enjoy outdoor activities including hiking, fishing, biking, golf, etc. Mild summer temps, the Blue Ridge Parkway is nearby, and Asheville is less than an hour away. The space This 2,600 square foot cabin is cozy enough for 2, but spacious enough to accommodate larger groups. In addition to the two bedroom main floor, there is a fully finished basement that has a bunk room, full bathroom, pool table, and lower deck access. The washer/dryer is also in the basement. The master loft on the top floor is huge, so in addition to the king sized bed and private bath, there are 2 twin beds for small kids, extra guests, etc. You also wake up to a beautiful mountain view from the master bed. This is a cabin in the woods, not a 5 star hotel. The space is simple, and has most of the creature comforts you could want, but you may also see a bug or two during your stay. If you're looking for no frills comfort immersed in nature, this is the place for you. If you're expecting the Ritz-Carlton, please find another place to stay. I will ask for your email address after you make a reservation. I'm not going to spam you or share your personal info with anyone else, I've just found that email is the best way for me to communicate specific information about the cabin and the area to guests once they've chosen my place. If providing me your email address is something you will have a problem with, then again, I don't think we will match up very well, and you may want to find another place. The main living room has a TV, and the basement does too. Both smart tv's are equipped with Netflix, Amazon Prime, and DirecTV Stream. The cabin does not have central A/C, but there is a through the wall unit in the living room if it gets really muggy. I generally leave the windows open (with screens) 24/7 during the summer. While a heat wave can never be ruled out, daytime temperatures typically average 75-80 during the hottest months, and it cools down nicely at night. In the cooler months, the Buck Stove keeps it nice and toasty inside. There are also built in wall heaters (gas and electric) throughout the cabin. The Cabin is a 2 mile drive up the mountain off the main road. While I've taken a Prius to the cabin in the summer, the road is unpaved for a stretch and bumpy in areas so a truck or SUV will make it easier to navigate. Due to unpredictable snowy conditions, 4WD is REQUIRED for winter travel. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire cabin. We also use the cabin throughout the year, so please be respectful of our personal belongings. I charge an extra $15 per person for parties over 4. It costs more to host larger groups, and this modest fee allows both smaller and larger groups to enjoy the space. Please be honest about the size of your group, it's the right thing to do. Additional charges, if any, will be automatically charged at booking. The following essentials will be provided: *Bed linens and towels *Paper Towels *Toilet Paper *Trash Bags *Coffee Maker and Filters *Hand Soaps *Shower Soap *Shampoo *Dish Soap *Laundry Detergent *Charcoal for the grill Also feel free to use any of the spices, sugar, creamers, coffee beans etc. that are generally stocked in the fully equipped kitchen. This is a SMOKE FREE environment! Please don't smoke in the cabin nor outside on the decks. Other things to note Downtown Burnsville is 5 miles from the cabin. It's a neat little area to explore. You'll find a few good eating spots, a brew pub, shops and a farmers market on Saturdays. There are also a couple grocery stores, drugstores, fast food places and a Starbucks in Burnsville. Mount Mitchell State Park is nearby, and there you will find some of the best hiking and waterfalls in the area. Whether you want to tackle the Mount Mitchell Summit trail, or just take a leisurely walk in the woods, you'll find plenty to do. There is also a 4-Star golf course in the park. The cabin is really in a great central location for exploring so much that Western NC has to offer. Grandfather Mountain, Asheville, Linville Gorge, Roan Mountain, Wolf Ridge Ski Resort, Tubing, White Water Rafting, Zip Lining, and so much more is all within an hour's drive.
