Great location within 5-minute walk of uptown Athens, Ohio University, convenience store, natural foods, and numerous restaurants. The space Beautiful restored turn-of-the century home in an ideal location close to the hustle and bustle of uptown Athens and Ohio University. The queen size bed is near a beautiful tiled bathroom featuring a very large clawfoot tub and beautiful shower with leftover tile from our local Athena restoration. NOTE: Athens requires a 6% Transient Guest Tax which AirBNB is only collecting the 3% Athens County portion but is unable to collect the 3% Athens City part and is paid separately by a special request from the host. Guest access No pets or small children please. Coffee, tea and light breakfast fare will be ready for you in the kitchen. Common areas on the first floor are the living room and dining room. We ask guests to not use dishes, etc. outside of the kitchen without approval as many special family things are in our home. There is wireless internet for guests but downloads are restricted. During your stay We have a separate private basement suite and may be there. Someone is always available for answering questions about Athens or our houses. Resource book is available. Other things to note We actually have two "seasons" here in Athens--students "here" and then quiet periods in the summer and between semesters. Kind of like any parents-love to see them come and love to see them go! Microbreweries and several local wineries add to entertainment options. There are many hiking and biking trails. Of course the Hocking Hills and historic Nelsonville (featuring Stuart’s Opera House and wonderful local shops around the Square) are nearby as well.
