Downstairs ceilings are high, doorways wide from it's days stabling horses! The Red Barn has a really well equipped open plan social kitchen, and is furnished in a comfortable and stylish manner. The inside and outside dining tables both seat 10, and the Red Barn works very well for 3 generations couples and families. It is a tranquil special place all year round, and the woodburning stove (logs provided) is a lovely focal point to enjoy chatting and catching up. In summer or winter the hot tub is a great addition, and every morning we test, clean and reset the fire so it is ready for you to enjoy throughout your stay. It is easy to feel close to nature with red kites often circling overhead, owls, pheasants on the lawns, and we even get occasional visits from muntjac deer. Downstairs there is an accessible king size bedroom with a shower room next door. Upstairs there are 2 king size bedrooms, both with ensuite shower rooms, and a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower over. Off this room is a mezzanine with ladder access suitable for children over the age of 8 with two single beds. If someone in your party has accessibility issues please message us for more information. There are games and DVDs, 2 Smart TVs and an upstairs lounge with a wi-fi booster and desk if you need to catch up with the office. "I had a great stay here with friends in July 2024. The barn is beautiful, stylishly converted to an extremely high standard and retaining many of its original features so it's an interesting place to discover. We found it to be immaculately clean and very well-equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed, even including properly sharp kitchen knives, which is unusual for a holiday rental but indicates the attention to detail that makes this place so lovely. The Nespresso machine with coffee capsules was an added bonus that was very much appreciated. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and there was a generous supply of towels, soap etc. Adrian and Ginny were brilliant hosts, and Adrian really went above and beyond in keeping the wood-fired hot tub hot and ready for us to use. Please note that there is a shared drive that runs to the front of the Red Barn. Breakfast can be sourced on a Saturday at The Royal Horseshoes at Waltham, or the Potting Shed at Scalford. Please note we accept two well behaved dog, downstairs only.
