Only two blocks from the Woodstock square, your room is located within the historic 1902 Craftsman home, the Louis G. Wilcox House. Beyond your private quarters, you will be greeted by artwork, taxidermy, plants, strange antiques, and tabby cat, Oliver! Anyone familiar with the film Groundhog Day will find the area recognizable, as the home is just down the street from the inn where the movie was filmed. The space Your private room features a sleeping area with a queen size bed which can be divided off from a small sitting area. The sitting area contains a pullout sofa to accommodate additional guests. What once was a sunporch has been renovated into a unique, year-round living space complete with central air and heat. Beyond your door you will find the shared first floor of the home. Guests are free to utilize the living room, dining room, full bathroom, and kitchen at all times. During warmer months, enjoy the deck, backyard, gardens, and fire pit! Guest access Your room features private entry from outside which is not utilized by anyone else in the home. The room can also be locked off from the rest of the home by guests. Shared spaces include the living room, dining room, kitchen, full first floor bathroom, backyard, deck, and a laundry area located in the basement. The only areas which are off-limits to guests include the first floor office, and the second story of the home. During your stay Matt lives in the home full time, and will be available daily for any needs. When home, Matt usually works in his office/studio upstairs, but is available in person if need be. Other things to note While your stay will not be affected, the home is under constant, light historical restoration. Current projects are the bathroom and python terrarium, so please excuse any spackle or minor construction clutter! The driveway is shared with neighbors. Please be courteous when parking to ensure that entry to the driveway isn’t blocked. If you will have more than one vehicle, there is free street parking one house down on a side street, or in a 24 hour parking lot a few houses away. Oliver the cat has access to roam the home’s common areas. While he is never allowed in the private guest room, Oliver is a very furry critter. If you have allergies to, or a phobia of pet hair, please be aware before booking. To balance out the furry critters, the house is home to a few scaly ones as well. Sunny the corn snake, and ball pythons (Baby Noodle and Adventure Noodle) are within the common area. Their enclosures are locked at all times and are not taken out while guests are in the home. If you have a phobia of snakes, please be aware before booking. Art is a central theme throughout the home. The collection is diverse and includes works that depict many subjects, including nudity and dark subject matter. If you have a phobia of human anatomy or spooky skeletons, please be aware before booking.
