The Side Door Guesthouse is nestled in the charming town of Excelsior, MN, near Lake Minnetonka. The private side-door entry leads you up 15 steps to a bright and comfortable getaway. Just two blocks from downtown Excelsior, it's an easy walk to beaches, paddle board/kayak rental, bike trails, restaurants, movie theater, Excelsior brewery, coffee shops and shopping. Our family-friendly room, or couples retreat, has kitchenette, full private bath with heated floor, and ample street parking. The space Our space is completely private/separate entry from main house; it's bright, comfortable and a short walk to bars/restaurants, shopping, beaches and trails. Please be aware that there is an exterior stairway (4 steps), and interior stairway (15 steps) to enter the apartment. Guest access We have a private side-door entry to the rental apartment with an easy self check-in by punch code. Parking: Please use the ample street parking available in front of and across the street from house. Driveway can be used only for unloading and loading. Thank you! Please do not smoke anywhere on the premises. Other things to note 1) Please be aware that the room is NOT baby/childproofed and it is our guest’s responsibility to be aware of your child’s behavior and whereabouts at all times. **Our side entry has 15 stairs and we recommend that you keep the upper door locked to prevent accidents. We want your child to be safe in our guesthouse! 2) I follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. COVID-19 Precautions taken when cleaning between guests: I sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob I use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and I wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination I provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay 3) Pets are NOT allowed in this space (even though we love animals!) 4)Allergy alert: It's important for us to let you know that we do have a cat and, even though this space has a separate entry and we try to keep him away from/out of this room, he does live with us on the premises. We are very aware that people have allergies, and will continually do our best to keep the space clean and animal-free. 5) Guests have a private entry, but please be aware that there is an interior staircase (15 steps) with railing to this second level space. We are not wheelchair accessible. 6) Please understand that smoking is strictly prohibited on the premises as a family member has smoking sensitivity.
