Casa dei Monti, views of mountains and sea. *new drone video* see link !!
Sun-kissed from dawn til dusk, this beautifully restored country farmhouse is situated just outside the Sibillini National Park. The house which lies close to the charming village of Colmurano comfortably sleeps 10 people, with 3 double rooms, 2 twin bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Any of the rooms may be expanded with another single bed which means the full capacity is 14. There is a large fully-fitted kitchen with traditional fireplace. There is also a spacious garage for games (table tennis etc.) The 50 cm thick walls keep the house cool in summer and warm in winter. The outdoor pool has wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. There are also fly screens on all the bedroom windows, to allow the almost permanent breeze to keep things cool! Here's a short video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdNQym4ceRQ Colmurano is characteristic of this wonderfully hilly area. Chosen by the ancient Romans as a place of rest, many archaeological places are still being discovered in nearby Urbisaglia. During the summer there are numerous artistic activities and culinary festivals (esp. the International Street Festival in July, contact owner for website link ). For those who enjoy genuine gastronomic flavours of the land, there are plenty of opportunities to try them with the numerous restaurants and trattorie, and the festivals of the surrounding towns and villages, and the cellars where the art of wine-making respects all the charisma and tradition of the grape harvest of old. The location of the house allows you to plan cultural day trips. From Colmurano just 30 minutes by car will get you to the mountains (Sarnano- thermal baths and ski centre during winter), or to the sea (Civitanova - Conero Coast ). The Abbey of Fiastra (5 minutes away) lies in a Nature Reserve on the edge of a large forest (please, contact owner for more information) . At Urbisaglia (also 5 minutes) lies the Archaeological Park of Urbs Salvia, with its Roman ampitheatre, open theatre, temple and aqueduct. 20 minutes away is the beautiful city of Macerata, with its annual open air Opera festival (contact owner for link). Other places of interest: Caves of Frasassi, Recanati (birth city of G. Leopardi) Loreto, Camerino Caldarola, Assisi.
