Smithy House dates back to the 1700s and has retained much of its traditional charm and character. It is set in the old part of Stainton on the village green. On the first floor you will find a twin bedroom with built in wardrobe and flat screen tv and dvd. Also upstairs is a double bedroom which has a four poster king sized mahogany bed and matching furniture, it has a superb buit in shower and hand basin. Upstairs is the bathroom which has a shower, hand basin and WC. There is private parking for 2 cars within the grounds. The garden has a large lawned area with patio and garden furniture. The village of Stainton is ideally placed to enjoy the Northern Lake District and the Eden Valley being only 3.5 miles from Pooley Bridge and Lake Ullswater. Penrith a market town is only 10 minutes away, here there are a variety of shops, restaurants, supermarkets, pubs and a large open air Saturday market. There are superb opportunities for mountain and road cycling. Walkers can take local walksand there is a lovely walk to the village of Dacre which has a pub. Serious walkers can attempt Blencathra and Helvelyn which are only a short car drive away. Stainton has a village pub, hotel,shop,post office and a church and the Rheged Discovery Centre is within walking distance. All gas, electric, logs, bed linen and towels are included.
