No house should ever be on a hill or on anything. It should be of the hill, belonging to it. Hill and house should live together, each the happier for the other." -- Frank Lloyd Wright Nestled in the Kalaheo hills 20 minutes north from Poipu, this oasis offers modern barefoot luxury with breathtaking views of the lush tropical landscape. The Longhouse has full privacy from the main residence located on the same parcel, it is the place to unplug and unwind, surrounded by nature's beauty. The space The property spans 11.4 hilly acres and is home to two houses, both surrounded by abundant flora and fauna, including rare native plants, birds, and butterflies, with magnificent rainbows and birdsong-filled mornings, and starry nights filled with cricket sounds. Entire compound was built with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that the structures and gardens blend seamlessly with the surrounding natural landscape and the area's beauty. The result is a place that fits perfectly into its natural setting adding to its tranquil atmosphere and extraordinary natural elegance, complete with spectacular mountain and ocean views. Exotic hardwoods that are resistant to the elements of nature have been used for every aspect of the structures, from exteriors to interiors, structural walls, roofing, and custom, hand-built furniture. The owners' lifetime boating experience influenced the selection of marine-style materials and thoughtful use of space, giving both homes the quality and ambiance of a yacht. Currently, only the longhouse is available to rent, the main residence is owner-occupied but both structures enjoy privacy and seclusion. The interior decoration represents world tastes, resulting from years of dedicated collecting of art, artifacts, and unique furnishings from voyages around the planet. Exotic hand-made objets d'art and natural fabrics, from leather to camel hair, silk, cotton, and cashmere, balance the simple lines of the wood structures, creating a style throughout of coherent calm. Spaces echo each other, with elements repeated in both houses and throughout the rooms, featuring old teak lazy chairs, hand-woven hammocks, collectors rugs, and artful accessories. All-wood bedroom offers four-poster CalKing bed and a view of the endless green hills rolling into the blue shades of the Pacific. The built-in merbau wood cabinetry is enhanced with hand-made fine rattan paneling, adding texture and uniqueness. Wide, long hardwood planks provide the floors with an old-world feeling and barefoot luxury. Inspired by clean, classic Japanese style, master bathroom is outfitted with grand sinks and luxurious enormous stone soaking tubs, and a shower that open to the stars, creating an extraordinary experience with each use. Suspended high above the Kalaheo valley, the longhouse's outdoor shower is as unique as it is beautiful, with light tropical breezes whispering gently through the tiny wooden slats to cool you on warm days.
