ED Refnr. 1026557 Vacation in architectural monument combines heritage conservation and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model provides a double benefit: the monuments are given a new future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is being realised by the foundation Ferien im Baudenkmal (FiB), which was founded in 2005 by the Swiss Heritage Society.  Car park: Two uncovered parking spaces are located directly next to the house. Access to the house is guaranteed. Public transport: Take the train to Amriswil and then the Postbus 944 to Brüschwil, Hefenhofen (5 min. walk from the house). By car: Enter in navigation: Switzerland, 8580 Hefenhofen, Chatzerüti 17 From Zurich: Motorway to Kreuzlingen, along Lake Constance towards Romanshorn to Kesswil, at the roundabout take the 1st exit towards Dozwil, in Dozwil turn right towards Amriswil to the hamlet of Brüschwil, in Brüschwil turn left and drive 300m to Chatzerütihof, second last house on the left with a greenhouse in front.  From Chur or St. Gallen: Motorway to exit Arbon West, continue to Amriswil station, through the subway in the direction of Kesswil to Weiler Brüschwil, in Brüschwil turn right 300m to Chatzerütihof, second last house on the left with greenhouse in front. Number of persons 2-6: A baby cot (up to 2 years) is available. The house can accommodate six guests (plus baby). From the entrance on the ground floor you enter the eat-in kitchen with a beautiful old stove, next to it is the living room from which you have direct access to the garden. A very steep staircase from the kitchen leads to the large anteroom on the first floor. A shower and separate WC have been installed there. The double bedroom with a view of the garden is located next to the entrance hall. The entrance hall also leads to the covered arbour. Another very steep staircase leads to the attic, where there is a four-bed room (one double bed and two single beds, as well as a cot). The house can also be rented for two people only and is then cheaper. We recommend good slippers as the floors are made of stone and wood. Extras: There is a sauna next to the covered arbour as a relaxation room. The very hospitable owners live in the adjoining house and enjoy the guests from different cultures and regions who are interested in architectural history. Parties can also be held in the neighbouring barn. Please enquire about this separately. Garden: The garden is available for use by holiday guests. Guests are welcome to help themselves to the vegetables, fruit and herbs grown by the owners in consultation with them. A garden seating area with a table is directly accessible from the living room. Seating and deckchairs are available for you. From the upper floor you reach a covered arbour with plenty of morning sun. WLAN: Is available.  Open: The house can be rented all year round. Pets: Pets are allowed. Altitude: 450 metres above sea level. IMPORTANT ADDITION The Chatzerütihof is a listed building that has been renovated with great respect for the existing fabric. The tenant is aware of this and treats the property with care. Although the technical equipment is up to date, certain functional details do not meet current standards and harbour a potential source of danger. The tenant is aware of these circumstances.
