Villages of Nyack and Piermont offer exceptional restaurants, Victorian architecture, music venues, antique shops, unique gift shops & art galleries. (Happy to offer suggestions.). Enjoy walking or biking the mile long picturesque pier in Piermont which was hand built in the 1800's. The pier was instrumental during WWI & WWII. Driving a few miles north on Broadway, past beautiful river front homes, is Nyack Beach State park & Hook mountain with a lovely walking or bike trail along the water. Small beach front & great views. Tallman Mountain for walking/hiking or bikes. Congers and Rockland lakes for a stroll to watch the swans or to picnic or BBQ. Nyack & Piermont have been the location for numerous movie and series filming over the years such as…more recently Blacklist and The Sinner. Next to Piermont is Sparkill where you can dine in or outside at Roost Restaurant then take a stroll on the Rail Trail which is a walk/bike trail through several towns and connects to other counties and states rail trails. If you are up for a 3.6 mile walk or ride, consider the bike/pedestrian path spanning over the Tappan Zee (Cuomo) Bridge. You can rent electric bikes near the bridge. It is a 20 minute bike and an 80 minute walk in one direction. There are rest stops along the way. Traveling with a child, check out Nyack Memorial Park with playground equipment, sprinklers to run through, basketball, skateboard park, picnicing on the lawn, fishing off the dock. Only 3 miles away is the huge multi-level Palisades Center Mall which also offers indoor entertainment such as 8 movie theaters, go karts, bowling alley, ice skating, rope bridge and zip line as well as virtual entertainment. Guest access Aside from your own private spaces you can use the fire pit on the bluestone patio as well. You will have a space in our driveway for your car. In the towns there is some free parking and also metered parking. Coffee maker with coffee or tea is in the apartment as well. We are 45 minutes from Fahnestock State Park which has 20 kilometers of groomed trails and cross country skiing and snowshoeing. You will be staying in an 1865 home that according to its history, was frequented by none other than Houdini back in the day! Because of its age, rooms are on the small side however the homes character and location more than make up for it. This apartment is on the main level of this two family home. The hosts live above with a small 3 pound non-allergic dog who is extremely friendly and will smother you with kisses if you allow it
