Our family retreat is set on a hilltop with sweeping views of farmland, distant mountains and Caspian Lake. Inside, guests will enjoy a large open-concept kitchen and dining area, a comfy family room with a wood-burning stove, books, games, puzzles, television, sound system, and a Steinway grand piano. A 10 min. walk leads to the beautiful & private Lodge Beach, where guests will find a pristine lake with clear water, a sandy beach, boats, and a floating dock to swim to and dive from. The space This is a beautiful and desirable Greensboro property that is sure to delight anyone who is looking for a comfortable retreat in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Year-round access to the Highland Lodge Beach and Caspian Lake provides opportunities to swim, fish, sunbathe, sail, kayak, and canoe...or visit in winter and enjoy immediate out-the-door access to the Craftsbury trail network for truly world-class XC skiing. The house itself has been in our family since being built in 1973. It is bright and warm with sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfy, the piano is tuned, and the couches are easy to fall asleep on while the kids are busy doing kid stuff in this restorative, safe, and pristine environment. Please note that this is a family home and as such it contains the personal belongings of the owners, who enjoy using it in the same way that you no doubt intend to. The house does not attempt to feel like a spread in Dwell magazine. If you want nothing but a clone of the over-designed rentals you see on Pinterest, social media etc., this is probably not the place for you! What it IS is an awesome and clean yet "lived in" property, hosted by responsible people who love their time in Greensboro, and who occasionally use the house as a rental to cover basic expenses so that we may continue to preserve it for future generations. Guest access Guests will have exclusive use of the entire house and all it has to offer during their stay. Beach access is granted in partnership with the Highland Lodge, guests are responsible for following all posted rules and conducting themselves appropriately when using this shared resource. Please; no smoking, music, or parties at this peaceful beach and lakefront. Other things to note This was conceived as a second home, and as such is appointed for the purposes of rest and relaxation in private fellowship with friends and family, rather than as a luxury resort. With that in mind, please do not be surprised that the bathrooms and kitchen, though clean and functional, would be best described as "basic".
