The space The ground floor Areca Suite apartment is approximately 1000 sq ft with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living/dining room, kitchenette (no stove/oven), washer / dryer and spacious lanai (patio). There's a dedicated workspace desk, with an ocean view, if you are working remotely or just need to catch up on email. A peaceful, clean, getaway perfectly located in the bucolic Maui countryside away from the crowds. You’ll experience the sounds of wind in the trees, tropical birdsong and native wildlife including laughing geckos and chuckling chickens. Enjoy the clear skies; sun, rainbows and showers by day, stars, moon and milky way by night. We're perfectly located near the start of "The Road to Hana" for you to explore beautiful Maui and also within an easy drive of Haleakala Crater for another great day trip, sunrise or sunset. A great location for hiking, waterfalls, beaches, shopping and restaurants in Haiku, Pa'ia and Makawao and so much more.... ✔ Lanai: There's a lanai for your private use with coastal ocean views and dining seating for four guests, plus some comfy chairs. Propane grill and also beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards are located on the lanai. ✔ Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 has a king bed, bedroom 2 has a queen bed. Both bedrooms have a/c, ceiling fan, dresser, bedside tables, hanging closet, luggage rack, bathrobes and slippers. Bedroom 1 also has a 32" TV with internet access for you to use your own account, Netflix, Hulu etc. In addition, a queen-size memory foam sleeper sofa in the living room offers an alternative for guests 3 and 4. ✔ Kitchenette: Has the essentials, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, kettle, steamer, blender, toaster, microwave, single electric hotplate plus all dishes and utensils. There's a a propane BBQ grill on the lanai solely for your use. Ideal for guests doing a little light cooking and take out, rather than preparing large meals (there is no stove/oven). There is a 43" Samsung Smart TV with an internet streaming service and also access to Netflix, Hulu etc for use with your own account. ✔ Laundry: Full size Samsung washer/dryer for your exclusive use in the apartment, located in bedroom 2. ✔ Breakfast: We provide packaged snacks and breakfast food items for you to have a self-catered light-island breakfast at the time of your choosing. The above is meant as a starter supply of breakfast foods to get you going until your first grocery shopping trip. But let us know if you need restocking on any items. With lush tropical surroundings and views of the ocean, it is the perfect place to start and end the day on your Maui vacation. I like that it is located away from the tourists on the south and west shores, though still close enough to visit those locations should you choose to do so. The location is perfect. It reminds me of old Hawaii and is very relaxing. I felt very private with my own entrance and double door privacy from upstairs. The patio is fully furnished and is a wonderful place to hang out pre or post activity. The amenities of the suite are impressive; the tidy kitchen is well-stocked with cooking utensils and crockery and it also has a vast array of picnic items and other supplies you will find super useful, tupperware, a day cooler, ice packs, assorted snacks, teas and coffee. They provide beach gear, i.e. high-quality Tommy Bahama chairs, large beach towels as well as assorted other gear for your use, so you are all set for going to the beach which is super convenient. The bathroom is spacious, and the bathtub/shower has great pressure. Thoughtful touches abound in the Areca Suite, the robes and slippers, the board games, the Maui sightseeing books and the suggestions in a thoughtfully prepared house book. The bedrooms and living space have overhead fans and those are nice on hot days. There are a/c units in the bedrooms, but I didn’t need a/c. I left the screened windows open at night and I was comfortable. The whole place is filled with light from the blanket of windows on the view facing side, yet you still retain your privacy without closing the drapes."
