This spectacular gated property, has the feel of a mountain retreat away from the tourist scene, but is just minutes to restaurants, shops and beautiful beaches. Recently renovated, and offers all the amenities. Whether you seek a romantic getaway for two or a great place for a family reunion, a gathering of friends or a retreat....this place is perfect. This property is a hidden jewel in a lush garden setting—a gardener's delight, artist get away, spiritual retreat or family vacation. This house is versatile in how many it can sleep; It is MUCH larger than it looks. The house has a large living room, dining room, covered lanai, fully equipped kitchen, picnic/BBQ areas, and WiFi. It has gas stove/oven, microwave, toaster oven coffee maker, dishwasher, blender, citrus juicer, ironing board, iron, 3 bathrooms (two bathrooms have a bathtub/shower, the other a shower. ) There is plenty of off road parking. It has 5 bedrooms (one is a spacious loft and one is a studio suite with an additional bathroom, kitchenette and a private entrance which is included in the price). All total there are 10 beds. Top floor: Loft room with 2 queens, 1 room with 2 twins, bathroom in hallway.. If you have a guest in a wheel chair or with mobility challenges, the master bedroom on the main floor is accessible with no steps. We have a ramp for the front door if needed. The bathroom on this floor has a bathtub/shower. Main floor: Master bed/bath, 1 queen, living room, kitchen, dining room and lanai. Bottom floor: Room with Queen and trundle 2/twins. (only bathroom access is through the other bedroom or on 3rd floor) Studio suite with King bed and full sofa couch, bathroom and kitchenette. All located on several acres of lush tropical beauty. There is an additional accommodation on the property as well as on neighboring properties so if you have a larger group, contact me about the possibilities. This property is located immediately next door to The Sacred Garden (with two walking labyrinths, succulent gardens, water gardens, meditation gardens) and is where we (the owners) live, so you have easy access to us if you need anything but with plenty of privacy. The property is in close proximity to other attractions like the World-Class Kite and Windsurfing at Ho'okipa and the famous Jaws big surf site. Great hiking trails are just 3 miles away. Haliimaile General Store and Mama's Fish House are minutes away. Haleakala National Park is only 50 minutes away. We are 2 miles to Makawao Town restaurants and shops, 3 miles to Haiku Town, 5 Miles to Paia Town and Baldwin Beach. The airport is only 15-20 minutes away but you will feel like you are far away from it all in this absolutely peaceful garden setting. We have a working organic nursery, growing ornamentals and organic edibles, a botanical garden and diversified fruits. Access to this property and our adjacent property, The Sacred Garden, allows you to go on walks through 8.5 acres of an incredible tropical setting. Upon request we will happily offer a tour so you can learn about Hawaiian plants, coffee production, water lilies, etc.. We have mango, coconuts, coffee, papaya, lemon, tangerine, bananas, avocados, lilikoi (passion fruit) macadamia nuts, lychee, breadfruit, and flowers galore—heleconia, bird of paradise, jade vine, ginger, and allspice. Different flowering trees take turns blooming so the valley is constantly featuring a different splash of color. Gardening classes are also available, as well as labyrinth walks and hula classes. There is a seasonal stream running through the property so from time to time there is the additional treat of a stream—(or a river!) running through the yard. The elevation is about 1000 feet which is PERFECT on Maui! We are about 10 degrees cooler than sea level which makes for absolutely comfortable days (70-80 degrees) and GREAT temps for sleeping (usually in the 60's). This is the MAXIMUM elevation you can stay and still go scuba diving on Maui. Speaking of diving...we are avid divers and can assist you booking Scuba Diving with the best dive operations on Maui. There is a Golden Retriever and a large New Foundland on the property both of which are extremely friendly .... Please note that this is a log house in the middle of the jungle and while we do everything we can to control insects, they are a part of life in Hawaii and virtually impossible to eliminate. If you are phobic or highly sensitive to insects, you may not want to choose to stay in the jungle. We do have the house treated and it should not be a problem. But you may see an occasional insect. You will definitely want a rental car....there is a bus stop a mile or two away but not ideal....and bikes are a little hazardous as these are hilly, windy, narrow roads. Getting Married on Maui? We can officiate the ceremony for you! If you need more space, we work with the neighbors and can guide you to their Airbnb sites for larger groups.... Great for Family reunions, retreats, birthdays, small gatherings Just let us know what you are looking for! House Rules: Quiet Time 9pm-8am. Amplified sound that disturbs neighbors or other guests is prohibited. Parking (provided at no extra cost) must be on gated property, not on street. Parties and events are not allowed. We can also assist you in booking your vacation activities. We have a pac and play and high chair to assist you with baby/toddler travel. PERMITTED Short-Term Rental Home Guest access You will have access to the whole house and 8.5 acres of lush tropical beauty, The Sacred Garden next door, the labyrinth, and the ability enjoy fruit (seasonally). This is a farm so we request you talk to us and get permission on which fruit is available for picking. There are other people living on the property, so while you are "away from it all" you are also among kindred spirits who know the property and the island and are available to help if you need any assistance. Other things to note We have an additional cottage on the property and our neighbors have small cottages as well so if you have a larger group. Let us know! We will greet you, check you in and orient you to the property. There is a booklet in the house with "things to know" and directions from us to virtually everywhere on the island, as well as info about the property.... There are wild chickens and roosters on the property and they start crowing around 4am. If you imagine you are on a Safari and they are lions roaring you will delightfully think "There's one!" instead of being annoyed. We try to keep them at a minimum but they are EVERY WHERE in Hawaii.
