Yards offer space for games, a campfire area, and a park-style charcoal grill. Roasting sticks and some grill supplies provided. Buy firewood locally or from us. *Don't climb the old chimneys; don't open field gates. Guests must clean campfire and grill items after use: scrape the grill and remove the debris and ash into the provided buckets. The patio offers a hot tub (emptied and sanitized after every check-out) and a table with seating for 4 overlooking a sloped yard and the forest edge adjoining the New River Gorge National Park. Patio chair cushions in the deck box; put them back when not in use. Keyless entry is on both ground floor doors. Central air and heat, nightlights, ceiling fans upstairs, and a plush blanket in each bedroom when you want a little extra snuggle in your cozy. All bedding is laundered after every check-out. *Don’t reshelf used blankets or pillows. The ground floor stays cool year-round and offers 2 queen bedrooms, the accessible bathroom, a coat closet, game room with pool table, foosball, mini fridge, grand game table, recliner sofas, board games, Roku TV, Blu-Ray/DVD player, and area information and maps. *Game table and chairs aren’t to be treated as toys. Upstairs, you'll find a charging station, area things-to-do information, our Guest Book with previous guest recommendations, printed Guidebook including house and property information, a king bedroom with an en suite bathroom, a twin bedroom with two beds, a bathroom, kitchen, dining area with seating for 8, comfy single recliners with a great view, stocked laundry closet, and 2 balconies: one views the forest, meadow and sky and is great for wildlife watching and stargazing; and one views the road... great for counting cars. Bathroom amenities include linens, hairdryer, make-up remover, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, hand soap, moisturizer, swabs, and feminine hygiene products. The kitchen has appliances, wares, essentials and amenities to get you started, as well as space for your things. City water on tap. Look in all the doors and drawers to find useful items, cleaning supplies, etc. Pets: We welcome well behaved dogs (2 max) with their responsible pet-people who: keep them off beds, furniture, linens; tidy after them indoors and outdoors, and do other awesome-pet-people things. If bringing your dog, indicate so in your reservation, and clean up as though it was never there. Be aware: a horse and donkey live in the adjacent fields, and the close proximity to the road, highway, and thousands of acres of wilderness. Leash laws are in effect to protect your loved ones. AT&T seems to have the best coverage in the area. Roku TV, WiFi, and a charging station are provided. Bring your own devices and connection cords. Internet speed test: 49.4 Mpbs download; 10.3 Mpbs upload - fast and should handle multiple devices. Be sure to look through all the photos in this listing. Graveled parking fits 6 vehicles. Don’t park or drive on the grass - you will spin/dig holes trying to get out. The Chickadee Cabin is named for the bird. Social, curious and always on the move, these little guys are often seen before they're heard. With black caps and white cheeks, watch for them at the forest edge year-round. Guest access Guests have access to the entire cabin, except the unfinished attic and a locked closet. A horse named Sue and a donkey named Romeo are sometimes in adjacent fields. They aren't ours. Sue and Romeo are usually really friendly; treat them with careful respect. Guests must clean provided campfire grill grate, park-style grill and roasting sticks after use. A scraper, spatula, fork, and tongs are in a kitchen drawer, and ash buckets are provided. Scrape the grill clean immediately after use and remove the debris and ash into the buckets. You'll find fun and useful information in the printed Guidebook in the cabin.
