The campsite is in the woods and is a level, grassy area for your tent. Two tents per site and six people per site unless prior arrangements made. Firewood may be purchased from us. There is a shared restroom and shower available. The space Known by locals as the hippie farm. Here you will find 18 magical acres mixed with forest, river, garden and prairie. This place is unlike any other; we live in line with the pace of nature. We work to create a place where we welcome you as you are, and many come to heal. We believe that everything is sacred, from the soil to the air we breath, and understand the interconnectedness of it all. The property, like ourselves is a work in progress. In 2019, the care of the Yarrow transitioned from Dennis to Tommy and me. Dennis created and cared for this farm since 1974 incorporating principles of permaculture, biodynamics, sustainability and naturopathy. Tommy and I will continue this work and add a little of our own flavor as well. Tommy and I are just a couple of city kids that followed our dream of moving to the country and establishing a homestead. Once we realized the power of this lifestyle, we knew we needed to share it with others. We are both yoga instructors and have studied other healing modalities over the years; we offer yoga and meditation classes at the farm as well. Tommy is a beekeeper - save the bees, save the humans- and has a 40 hive apiary onsight. We sell bees and honey and offer beekeeping classes. You won’t find anything fancy here. Humble, simple, and rustic are words that come to mind. We don’t believe in the throw away culture. We work to use what already exists, keeping things out of our landfills and not creating new stuff. You will see things that are well used, loved and repaired rather than cast off. Guest access Community is our number one goal. The property is large enough for you to keep to yourself if you would like, but we have found that most guests have found other people they have met here to be the best part of their visit. There are campsites, cabins and a lodge to rent. In addition, Dennis lives on sight and we have a beginning farmer program so there may be a few farmers hanging around too! May through September you will be able to join us for Pizza Nights! Thursday nights we open our barn for wood-fired pizzas from 5-9. We grow many of the ingredients on the farm, and what we don’t have, we get from neighbors or the Eau Claire Farmer’s Market. Some nights, we have live music and Thursday nights, are open mic nights, so if you play, bring your instruments! There are also kayaks to rent for $20 each. Your trip starts right here at the dock and ends anywhere from 90 minutes to 4 hours down the river- depending on how many stops you choose to make, there are many sandbars to stop at and enjoy. You may want to pack snacks and beverages. It is a relatively easy route, even for beginners. You may have to portage (carry) your kayak in a few places. Basically, it’s a place to wander and be free. To let go of being over-scheduled and over-stressed. To let yourself be just as you are. Enjoy. Other things to note People who come here find that it is a very healing and peaceful place for them to rediscover themselves. Nature has a way of touching the soul, bringing it sunshine when in need. The location, plus the combination of the highly mineralized organic food, adds to an experience that many have never had.
