Gull Cottage - Relax by the bay
Gull Cottage, with views of Georges Bay, is the perfect peaceful place to unwind, explore, walk, fish, read, or just relax and enjoy. The Cottage is exceptionally comfortable for short or longer stays and is perfect for couples wanting to reconnect, to get away for some time together, or adults travelling together and exploring the east coast of Tasmania. It is large enough to offer everyone their own space. Accommodating up to 6 guests, the master bedroom has a king size bed, ensuite and sitting room. Upstairs are two large bedrooms with queen beds, with views out to the bay. Built-in wardrobes are provided in all bedrooms. Newly installed air conditioning units in the bedrooms add to your comfort. There is a mezzanine bathroom with toilet, and additional toilet downstairs. The Cottage has been renovated, oozing character and charm. The sun filled dining room with its large dining table is a wonderful gathering place for lazy lunches, to enjoy a great meal, good wine and maybe cards or a board game. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you'll need for your stay, and the large Falcon range has two ovens, a grill and six gas hotplates - perfect for cooking up a storm. Modern washer and dryer, outdoor clothes lines, iron and ironing board provide all your laundry needs. From the garden, guests are welcome to use seasonal herbs. The comfortable lounge room invites you to enjoy the warmth of the fireplace in cooler weather, with wood provided. There are DVDs, CDs, board games, dominoes and cards, and NBN is connected for wifi access. The deck has a barbeque and offers a perfect place to eat, relax, have a quiet drink, and enjoy the bay views and sunset. A popular fishing jetty is only 2 minutes walk from the door, and you might even watch others pull in a catch. A short 4 minute drive or 35 minute walk around the bay takes you into pretty St Helens where you will find everything you'll need including cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, butcher, bakeries, newsagent, liquor store and chemist. Family fishing is popular in the local area and St Helens is well known for game fishing. The Information Centre offers a wealth of knowledge, and the History Room tells the story of the area's tin-mining history and heritage. St Helens is the largest town on the north-east coast and just a few kilometres to Binalong Bay and the southern end of the beautiful Bay of Fires, highly acclaimed by Lonely Planet. The local area abounds with exceptional views, beaches, walks, fishing and bird watching. We welcome you to stay a while, recharge your energies, and enjoy.
