Retreat 101 is located in a quiet location 150m from nine mile beach, we are one of the only properties to feature an outdoor fire pit. ( wood supplied) Perfect getaway for family, couples or just a romantic break. We are only minutes to the township of Swansea by car or a stroll along the beach. It makes a great base to explore the Tasmanian wilderness and vineyards. The space The House is exclusively yours during your stay. Our standard listed rate is for 2 guests sharing the same bedroom, additional guests are $50 per person per night for the duration of the booking. 2 guests using 2 bedrooms is an additional $50 per stay to cover laundry costs, (unfortunately this is a cost i have to pass on) so please let me know at the time of booking , i will make the amendment for you. Retreat 101 is a family friendly, fully self contained getaway. Sleeping 6 comfortably there is a queen room upstairs with en suite and own door to balcony, ground floor has a second queen room with garden views and third bedroom has 2 comfortable single beds, all bedrooms are fitted with ceiling fans. Queen rooms all have fully fitted electric blankets for winter, singles have hot water bottles for those winter nights. second bathroom has a shower, bath, toilet with laundry Washing machine The property has a Reverse cycle heat pump & Electric heating in the rumpus room, main lounge upstairs & bathroom heating for your comfort. It is a pleasant and scenic 40min drive to Freycinet or take a little longer and stop off at one of the many wineries along the way. From Retreat 101 it is a relaxing flat 20min walk along the beach into Swansea.(if you are walking please time with the outgoing tide as there is an inlet that connects Nine mile beach & Swansea, and you dont want to get you feet wet). Its a 5 minute drive into the historic township of Swansea, which offers a variety of dining, gallery, golf course, boat ramp or just a little further down the road Berry & Oyster farms. Keep the children entertained on the trampoline or tree swing while you relax in the hammock with a cool drink. Those inside days are also catered for with a large rumpus room, digital TV movies and a WII game console. guests have full use of U/C parking for 2 cars or boat, ironing facilities, Washing machine, linen supplied, electric heating, Outdoor Shower, Fully fenced, Children's trampoline and tree swing, children's games DVD player, Porter cot and cot sheets, & high chair NO SMOKING, PETS NOT ALLOWED Our property is a 150m walk to the beach. To start your beach fun, or relaxing walk, just head to the front gate and to the left, you will see a public access path. we also have beach towels, beach chairs and sand toys for the kids to use at the beach, and on your return a hammock for you to relax. Retreat 101 is accessed by stairs to the front door and inside a stair case to the kitchen living areas & main bedroom. This space may not be user friendly for the elderly, incapacitated or very active toddlers Other things to note Our property is a 150 m walk to the beach, we also have beach towels, beach chairs and sand toys for the kids and a hammock for your use. Swansea is a pleasant 20 minute walk along the beach, however it is accessible only at low tide due to an inlet separating nine mile beach and Swansea There is so much to fit in to such a short space of time. It's roughly 1hour 47min drive to Swansea from Hobart, the same distance from Launceston to Swansea, so it makes a great base. From Hobart depending on your time frame, there is a wildlife park on your way situated at Richmond called Zoodoo (620 tea tree rd Richmond). Best attractions are monkeys, white African lion, Bengal tiger and you can even pre book a tour and hand feed them. Coming into Swansea one of the most beautiful and scenic restaurants is Piermont estate ph ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) just ring in advance for opening times and availability. Next is Kate's berry farm on your left (no booking needed) great home grown berries and pancakes and home made ice cream. Spiky bridge is a great heritage attraction also on the left coming into Swansea from Hobart. A short walk to do in Swansea is Waterloo point right near the golf coarse from September to march it is home to nesting shearwaters which migrate from the northern hemisphere each year. In Swansea there are 2 small supermarkets, a chemist, visitor information center, post office/ news agency, ATM inside corner store, community bank (Bendigo) online access center at the school/library, May Shaw health center/medical centre, the Bark Mill tavern, with bakery, bottle-shop and restaurant. From Retreat 101 It is a 7 minute drive into Swansea and a pleasant 25 min walk along the beach. Coles bay freycinet is approx 57mins (58km) from Swansea and the wineglass bay walk is a must. For the less energetic, a pleasant walk up to the light house will give you the most spectacular view or even make sure you do both. Bicheno is a 35min (43.1km) drive from Swansea and every second weekend have a market. Just a reminder that Tasmania has strict quarantine regulations and does not allow fruit and vegetables into the state.
