The space We are looking for someone to cherish the space as if it were his/her home. Weekly cleaning included in monthly cleaning fee. Our home is smoke-free and pet-free. We believe in a healthy, chemical free home and use only organic products for cleaning and laundry. Tidiness and cleanliness are appreciated and will be rewarded. We are about a 25-minute walk from quaint downtown Kensington, MD which has a host of lovely antique shops. Because we have a 30-day stay minimum mandated by the county, we have a strict refund policy. We recommend securing travel insurance if your plans are subject to change due to weather or employment. HOUSE RULES: ABSOLUTELY, SERIOUSLY NO SMOKING OF ANY KIND IN OR NEAR THE APARTMENT. IF WE SMELL OR DISCOVER SMOKING OF ANY KIND (Vaping, Drugs, Incense), YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY. $500 FINE FOR REMEDIATION. SMOKING ANYTHING = GOODBYE. Violation of any house rule will result in immediate dismissal, cancellation of the remainder of your reservation and no refund. ** Continuation of HOUSE RULES: **Only registered guests are permitted on the property at any time. $30 fee (per day or night) for one additional guest only. We reserve the right to limit guest stays during the COVID-19 crisis or refuse guest stays on a case-by-case basis. 1. Please be sure to run fan after showering in bathroom and squeegee the shower doors. Do not use self-tanners or hair dye in shower. Please keep hair drain clear. 2. Leave used towels in the black and white bag in the laundry room for laundering. 3. If you need help with any appliance, please call. We would rather you call for assistance than damage an appliance. Damages to any appliance will count against your security deposit. 4. Please dispose of all kitchen leftovers immediately. Do not put oil, rice, pasta, grease or coffee grounds in sink. There is no garbage disposal and the kitchen is designed for light cooking only. If a plumbing issue is caused by any of the above, you will foot the bill. Please keep sink drain strainers clear of debris. 5. Trash cans and recycling bins are located in the rear of the house near the garage. Please do not allow interior bins to overflow. Monday is Recycling Day and a chart of what is recyclable is located in your guest manual. 6. Please let us know if you would like to borrow a bike and helmet (no charge). 7. We truly value cleanliness and neatness. Keep the apartment tidy and you will be rewarded with fun surprises. This is one of our most important concerns! 8. Please be sure to use deadbolt on front door. (Lost Key fee: $25) 9. Please do not run any appliances (dishwasher, washer/dryer) unless you are planning to stay for the duration of the cycle. You are welcome to ask us for help in this regard. 10. No burning of candles. We have provided beautiful LED candles for your use in the apartment. 11. Please do not bring food or drinks into the bedroom. There is a kitchen table in the kitchen and a coffee table in the dining room. Please do not put wet items on wood--we have multiple coasters! (So sorry to have to even say this....but experience has taught us!) 12. Please park in the space directly in front of our home--ONLY!! 13.. Puzzles and games are located in stereo cabinet--for your enjoyment!! 14. Do not put anything other than toilet paper in the toilet. If there is a plumbing issue and the plumber discovers any items other than toilet paper, you will be charged the full cost of the plumbing bill. Also, please throw away all wipes even if they say "flushable." Also, please no hair in the toilet. AGAIN---If the plumber discovers anything other than toilet paper, you will be responsible for the bill. 15. Suitcases must be stored on the shelves in the laundry room. 16. If food is ordered, you must meet driver to collect order. Food orders placed on the ground will attract armies of ants. We promise you! 17. Please use only cleaner provided on the quartz countertop. Please use microfiber cloth on stainless steel appliances. Never put anything hot directly on the countertop. Hot pads provided. 18. The backyard patio and gazebo are for exclusive use of our guest. 19. We are not hotel owners. We have worked very hard to create a nice space for you. Please leave apartment in the condition that you originally found it. 20. Checkout time: 11:00 am. Guest access Your apartment is 100% private and all yours! Tuesday is cleaning day and we will dust, vacuum, launder towels, and mop floors. We ask that you vacate the apartment from 10 am to 2 pm on Tuesdays. There is a paved patio and tiny gazebo in our backyard that is for exclusive use by our guests. We have a small outdoor table and two chairs. Want on explore our community via bike? Just ask! We have a spare bicycle for you! Other things to note * We provide organic cleaning products and ask that no artificial fragrances or outside cleaning products be used. We also prohibit the burning of live candles (we provide LED candles), incense or any form of smoking due to chemical sensitivity of host. You will hear pipe knocking sounds if you are reserving during the colder months. Please do not reserve if this is an issue for you. You may also hear footsteps from above. Guest Stay: 3 nights. 20. Please store suitcases on shelves provided in laundry room. 21. If you request a food delivery, please meet driver in person. Do not allow them to leave food on the ground. I promise you--there will be ants on your food. 22. Just to repeat: No pets, no smoking, no vaping, no drugs, no incense, no lit candles. Discovery of any of these four activities will result in immediate dismissal, a $500 fine and no refund.
