Sanctuary at Allambee is an idyllic holiday house set high up in the mountainous Strzelecki Ranges in Gippsland, Victoria. The house has been thoughtfully updated and is surrounded by extensive gardens and lush farmland, with forested gullies to the rear of the property, small, seasonal waterfalls and extensive wildlife. The house interior is airy and relaxing and fully self-contained with large, double-glazed windows, polished timber flooring throughout, a modern kitchen, new furniture and appliances, ample heating including a wood heater, and a large bathroom with free standing bath. It accommodates four people. Outside there is a large timber deck facing north to catch winter sun, and a small porch on the east side. The garden features walking trails and a charming wood-fired chiminea with BBQ attachment. The property also includes a large native plant production nursery (Strzelecki Plant Farm) with extensive native gardens, a large vegetable patch and orchards, including Macadamia nuts and Chestnuts. When in season, excess fresh fruit, flowers and vegetables are made available for the benefit of holiday house clients. The property also features Dorper Sheep, a few alpacas and Angus cattle. The large array of wildlife on the property includes indigenous wet and damp forests dominated by scattered 150+ year-old Mountain Ash, koalas, wallabies, wombats, possums, bandicoots, echidnas, Bush Rats, reptiles and frogs, water fowl, Lyre Birds, cockatoos, parrots, Bower Birds, Kookaburras, honey eaters, native pidgeons, owls, Kurrawongs and many others. Walking trails are planned for easier access. Local attractions include: The iconic Grand Ridge Road; Mirboo North and its eateries, bush trails and reserves; Yarragon Village; Mount Worth State Park; Allambee Camp with its ropes course, Flying Fox and Giant Swing, and Allambee Flower Farm. Sixty to ninety minutes drive are: Mount Baw Baw with its extensive Summer walking trails and Winter skiing; Tarra-Bulga National Park and its ancient rainforest, Wilson's Promontory and Inverloch's beaches. The secluded location offers clients an escape from hectic daily routines, "smart devices" and noise and a chance to relax, put their feet up, listen to music, read, watch movies, walk or run and enjoy nature. A property particularly suited to environmentalists and gardening enthusiasts. Our current pricing is a flat rate of $230 for two people per night and then an additional $38.50 per additional person up to four people in total. Stays of 28 days attract a 5% discount. Minimum stay is 2 nights. Thankyou for researching our property details. Ian and Gay Cornthwaite.πŸ˜ƒ
