Spectacular Bay Views from South Channel House, McCrae
Enjoy some of the best views on the Mornington Peninsula from South Channel House, a beautiful, architecturally designed five bedroom home. Perched up high on McCrae hill, it feels as though you're sitting above the edge of the world! Watch the cruise liners, massive container ships, and the Spirit of Tasmania up close as they enter the Bay from Bass Strait, following the narrow South Channel before making the sharp turn to port (left) at McCrae toward their destination in Melbourne. The upper level with it's expansive windows and adjoining large balcony gives way to a panorama from the Melbourne skyline across to the You Yangs, as well as sweeping bay views down to Portsea, The Heads and over to Queenscliff. The open plan layout includes a fully-equipped modern kitchen, which is separated from the dining area by a marble island benchtop, and a spacious lounge with a large open fireplace. A perfect setup for your group to enjoy even in the colder months! The master bedroom, with a private bath, and a powder room adjacent to the main entrance complete the upper level. The lower level features another lounge room with marvellous water views. This space works well as a retreat for the kids. There's a TV and a large selection of board and video games to choose from. There are four bedrooms on this level (two with great views!), as well as two full bathrooms and a separate laundry. The house operates on solar power, has a 6 star energy rating and is ecologically friendly. South Channel House is ideally located, with access to all that the Mornington Peninsula has to offer. Dozens of fantastic wineries, world class golf courses, bushwalking trails, great restaurants, breweries, distilleries, and the wonderfully relaxing Peninsula Hot Springs are all at your fingertips! Just a short drive down the hill is the Eastern Lighthouse, a prominent local landmark, the restaurants and cafes of McCrae Village, and the delightful McCrae Beach. For those who prefer bigger surf, Gunnamatta and Point Leo Beach are within easy reach, as are fishing, sailing and other water sports. With white sand beaches, great food and wine, world class golf courses, and beautiful sunsets, the Mornington Peninsula has so much to offer.
