This holiday home is a real kiwi holiday home, warm and cosy but with everything you'll need for a happy comfortable stay. Two bedrooms sleep up to 6 people and the stay includes linen hire. The log fire heats the entire house and the BBQ on the covered deck can be used when its wet or fine. Cooking is on the hooded bbq, a two ring gas stove and microwave and the kitchen is fully equipped with all cutlery, dishes, pots etc.... TV - unlimited wifi Pets are welcome - ask owner first please..... Close to the new Paparoa Track and famous Punakaiki Pancake Rocks. Our holiday home backs onto the Paparoa National Park with native bush, Tui, Bellbird and Wood Pidgeons everywhere Watch the amazing west coast sunsets with a glass of wine on the covered deck... The house is set amongst the bush on a 50 acre block that was once part of the local gold mining area and full of history . BBQ on the deck while watching the spectacular surf and the wild Tasman sea and sunsets It is not unusual to see dolphins from the deck on calm days... The old bridge at the Fox River is one of a few left in the South Island and is a popular local swimming spot and bridge jumping spot at the right tide. The Punakaiki pancake rocks, gold panning, caving and more are all close by - brochures for these are in the house.... Owners are usually on site ( further up the hill in their own accomodation to ensure your privacy) and are able to offer local knowledge on places to go etc if requested. This is a great place to relax, listen to the wild life and kickback for a few days, with the sound of the sea a constant background noise. Further up the coast, Tauranga Bay, has a great beach and surf spot, with Westport a handy 40 minute drive for supplies Every Sunday during the summer a local market is held at the Fox River with local artisans goods ranging from paintings, pottery, silverware, clothing, food, coffee and much more. Punakaiki pancake rocks are a must see and the the start of the new Paparoa Track is close by.
