On Golden Sands - Macleay Island
Water views and great location on the island. The house is positioned towards the end of a quiet boulevard on the north eastern end of the island (about 4kms from where the ferry terminal is located at the southern end of the island). The northern end of the island is where the main bays and beaches are. The water views from the house look towards North Stradbroke Island. There are no houses between you and the water and you can access Moreton Bay out the front of the property. A perfect place for entertaining, relaxing, fishing, swimming, boating and kayaking. There are a number of places on the island where you can eat out, with the closest to the house being the Bowls Club, which has a courtesy bus service. The island has playgrounds and parks (including a new skate park), a 9 hole golf course, a bike track, heritage walking trail, taxi and small local bus service, cafes, two supermarkets, fuel and a host of other services. Large two storey home, dog friendly. All we ask is that pets are kept off the furniture and we prefer they sleep in the laundry. The house is perfect for 3 couples or 2 small families. There is an upstairs and downstairs living area, with easy access shower and toilet on both levels. Upstairs has a massive deck off the living area, with open kitchen, dining and lounge (with TV and DVD player). There are two large bedrooms upstairs, one with a queen bed and the other with a queen and single bed. All the rooms have built-in-wardrobes. Downstairs there is a bedroom with a queen bed, and the rumpus room/bar area with flat screen TV and DVD player. There are also board games and a collection of DVDs at the house. There is wi-fi available at the property and mobile phone reception. The downstairs area flows out to a lower deck and sitting area. The small back yard is fenced and the house is fully screened. The house is designed for anyone looking to have a peaceful and relaxing short break or longer holiday with plenty of space for everyone. Please note: The house is no longer accessible from the rear of the property as it is fenced off and as such the property is not suitable for anyone with a mobility impairment as there are multiple stairs from the front of the property to the 2nd floor of the house, with no hand rail on the external stairs to the first level. Also note that there are no parties allowed or gatherings, no excessive noise allowed and maximum of 6 people and no smoking on the premises. Breaking of any house rules results in immediate eviction, police action and all monies forfeited, including security deposit. Boating, swimming and fishing out the front of the property To the left of the house is an open beach area where you can swim and launch a tinnie or a kayak around the high tide. There is also an all tide ramp at the southern end of the island and a half-tide concrete boat ramp on the western side of the island at Dalpura Bay, which is a short two minute drive (or 15 minute walk) from the house. Dalpura Bay is also a good spot for a swim and a fish when the tide is in and a great place to sit and watch the spectacular sunsets. As well as being able to take a passenger ferry (which now accept GoCards) or a vehicle ferry to the island to access the property, you can pilot your own boat (or even a seaworthy kayak) to the house. You can anchor in the shallow bay out the front of the house for the week or the weekend. The local bay is protected from the North Easterly and the Westerly winds, which makes it ideal for kayaking in most conditions. There is a narrow slipper kayak at the property for the use of guests. There is open parking at the front of the property. Plenty of room for the boat and car.
