Sheep Shack at Franny's Farm- minutes to Asheville
Eco-Cabin lodging on a mountain ridge overlooking South Turkey Creek Valley, home to our farm with organic gardens, heritage chickens, goats & donkeys. The cabin is a cozy, nicely decorated one room, private space with a light, fan and electrical outlet. The Community Building is shared by guests & has a fully equipped kitchen, bath/shower rooms. The kitchen has coffee maker, stove, refrigerator, cooking equipment & dining utensils. There is a grand fire pit for guests to socialize around. The space The cabin has window air conditioner unit in the summer and a space heater in the winter. WIRELESS INTERNET: Wifi is NOT available up on The Ridge, only around The Barnhouse & Farmstore area. Unplug & Relax! CELL SERVICE: Available throughout the farm depending on your provider. FLASHLIGHT: It gets very dark at night on the farm so bring your flashlight. PETS: Please be respectful of the other guests & animals on the farm by cleaning up all animal waste and properly disposing of it in the outside garbage cans. Pets must be attended at all times and cannot be left in the cabin or on the premises without supervision. There is a $20 pet fee that can be paid upon arrival. SMOKING: Please smoke only outside the cabins and dispose of all butts in the proper designated ashtray. FARM STORE: We will almost always have farm fresh eggs and seasonal harvest among other goodies available for purchase in the farm store. Please let us know if you would like to shop and we can open the store for you to browse! LINENS: We provide linens, blankets, pillows and 2 or 3 towels depending on the number of guests. ATTENTION: The Ridge where the Eco-cabins, Community Building and camp sites are located is accessible via our new Kerr Road back entrance. From New Leicester Hwy: 1. Drive 1 minute (0.3miles) past the main farm entrance on South Turkey Creek Road and Came Sharpe Rd, (you will see signs for Franny's Farm and a green sign with an arrow that says "Cabin Guests, Continue to Kerr Rd") 2. Take a right onto the next road, Kerr Rd (there is an oldtimey car workshop on the left hand side, Kerr Rd is on the right) 3. Enjoy the woodland drive up to your cabin, following the middle road (marked with Franny's Farm signs) when it forks. 4. The Sheep Shack is the first cabin on the left. You may park directly in front of it (or where any other available parking space is). The farm is located at 22 Franny's Farm Road, just down the short but steep, 750 foot gravel road with 2 concrete strips. It may be daunting if you are not familiar with driving in the mountains. If you have 4WD, please use it, but it's not necessary. Stay on the concrete strips and go slowly! PLEASE NOTE the hill is one way only - you may drive down but please use the Kerr Rd entrance to go up to your cabin. Franny's Farm is about 20 minutes from downtown Asheville. It is an easy 3 turns on main roads. Uber, Lyft, & AVL Ride are available for transportation. The ART bus stops about 8 miles from the farm by the Ingles on New Leicester Hwy. Guest access All lodging is self check-in with the keycode provided. Check out The Farmstore at the big brown Barnhouse, where we have self-guided tour documents so you can get acquainted with the land. You may visit the farm animals, but PLEASE shut the gates behind you and no dogs allowed in the pasture. Walk through the gardens and hike the Moonshine Mary Trail behind the community building. Gather around the fire pit to socialize, relax and star gaze! Other things to note Franny's Farm has an event space in the barn and hosts fun events like Goat Yoga, weddings, and retreats! It can be an active place during peak season and on weekends. Any wedding or event must be completely shut down with guests off property by 11pm.
