This is a perfect unique get-away for couples. Great walks and lake fun. Swimming is wonderful. Enjoy time on deck with coffee or wine while you listen to the loons.! Spectacular surroundings of nature. Wonderful getaway! The space You will enjoy the feeling of relaxation as life slows down. Clearwater Lake is one of Maine’s clearest accessible lakes. With a max depth of 130 feet you can enjoy this spectacular spring fed lake. We enjoy relaxing in our lakeside Adirondack chairs, while reading Life Among Giants by local author Bill Roorback. We also love preparing delicious meals in the full kitchen and enjoying them with friends and family. You will be delighted by an early morning swim, as the sun raises over the mountains and illuminates the picturesque shoreline. During the day you can rest and relax at the lake or go on an exciting nearby day trip (see below). Complete your day with a home cooked meal as you watch the moon rise over the lake. Light a campfire and enjoy toasting smores by the fire. ---Family Friendly--- We have raised two children and many of their friends over the years at the yurt. Children love jumping off the dock and exploring the woods. We are sure your family will enjoy the lake as much as we have. We are excited to share it with you. ---Modern Amenities--- -24 ft diameter high quality insulated Pacific yurt -2 beds: 1 Queen Size bed and 1 Queen futon -Sleeps 3 comfortably -Gas Rinnnai heater -Well-stocked game cupboard with many board games and books -Kitchen has large fridge/freezer, gas stove & oven, double basin sink and all necessary pots/pans silverware and dishes -Screened in windows & skylight -Great deck with picnic table -Swimming and boat dock -Great Mountain biking on nearby snowmobile trails -Bathroom w/ hot shower -Washer/Drier -Hot/Cold drinking water -Electricity ---Day Trips--- -Cascade Falls Enjoy a 45 ft. waterfall within walking distance (30 min) from camp. (website hidden) for images and consult guest binder in Yurt for details -Pico Peak A short 10 min drive around the lake and you can hike to a the top of Pico Peak. Though not found on (website hidden) the hike is only 25 min and has great views of the lake from above. Consult guest binder in Yurt for details. -Farmington Maine Just 12 min from Farmington Maine you can enjoy shopping, restaurants, and galleries. Home of the University of Maine at Farmington (UMF). Also has a large supermarket and Wal-Mart for your convenience. -Rangeley/Sugarloaf Area A quick 45 min drive and you will be in the Rangeley or Sugarloaf recreation areas. Both have great views of the mountains and many restaurants. ---House Rules--- Guests will have access to the entire property (2.5 acres / 290 ft. shore front) and lake area. There is a small fire pit and ample parking. Sailboat and motorboat are not for guest use. Neighborhood peaceful, no parties. If you are interested in a peaceful serene get away, this is it! If you have a boat, kayak, canoe, or windsurfer you are more than welcome to use it. If you are bringing a motorboat please contact in advance to make arrangements. You can enjoy ample privacy during your stay. We may stop by for the occasional swim, but are quite flexible. Rental Periods: May – October We look forward to hearing from you! -Ellen Roberts The Emery Community Art Center at U.M.F. has regularly scheduled performances and exhibitions. Narrow Gauge Cinemas is a 6 screen theatre which is right in town. Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture is just 45 minutes away and for the months of June and July has lectures often on Friday evenings at 8:30 pm that are free and open to the public. These are world renowned contemporary artists. There is a great independent bookstore in town called DDG Bookseller. We have a wonderful health food store called the Better Living Center, a farmer's market on Saturday and a gourmet food store called Up Front and Pleasant Gourmet that sells delicious coffee, chocolate and local foods. For restaurant dining try Soup For You, the Homestead, or Thai Smile. If you want Italian food the Calzolaio restaurant in Wilton is excellent. Parking is easy. You definitely need a car to get around. Our kitchen has silverware, pots and pans, coffee maker, coffee filters, mugs, glasses, plates, silverware, cutting board, knives, toaster, colander, grilling tongs, etc. Guest access You have access to the entire space.
