South House: This single-story, 1900+ square foot home with a master suite, second bedroom, and two sleeper sofas, sleeps six. The pool is open seasonally, May through August. Grounds: The grounds consist of manicured gardens, serene pasturelands, shady forest trails, and dramatic rocky outcroppings with marine vistas, all with extensive paths and trails connecting the natural wonders of the property. Sustainability: Bayhill Garden is committed sustainable practices. Water conservation is especially important in the islands because we share a limited aquifer. All the gardens were designed with water conservation in mind, including moisture-retentive soils, careful mulching, and the most advanced technologies. An AdvanTex grey and wastewater system purifies water from the homes to irrigate the grounds. Additional irrigation water comes from rainwater catchment from four ponds permitted by the Washington State Department of Ecology. A Netafim drip irrigation system, designed for desert use, waters the garden. Solar panels under the slate roof in the pool house heat the water in the pool and provide energy for the floor heating system. All cleaning supplies used on the premises are botanical, non-toxic products in order to protect the soil and water systems.
