The House on Penn Cove is now located on a private road going down a cliff to no bank water front, so this a very private location. There is unobstructed Penn Cove views and the historic town of Coupeville can be seen across the cove. On clear days, you have a spectular view of the Olympic Mountain range. The house has a Mid Century Modern design with particularly the Pink Kitchen being something that has to be seen. The space The space is explained by captions in the photo section. Just click on the first photo twice and photo presentation mode with captions will appear. Almost every wall in every room in this house is covered with beautiful art work. The paintings were almost all done by the artist Beatrice Powell, aka Cove Loon, from the mid 1950s until around 2005. She lived in this home from 1971 until 2018. She grew up in New Jersey, studied in New York City and spent the years before her children was born with her US Navy husband in Guam and Taiwan. The main space in the house is the large open plan living room and kitchen at the front of the house with large windows providing a spectacular view of Penn Cove with Coupeville located right across Penn Cove. This room is in classic high end mid century modern design with original mid 1950s custom made cabinets and classic Pink Kitchen that is a must see. At high tide, the large living room windows and the very close proximity to the sea give you the feeling of being on the command deck (bridge) of a large ship. The living room has an electric high end grand piano. The keys for the piano are made available upon request. There is a separate one bed room Airbnb at the ground floor level, so some through floor noise should be expected. In the back of the house (the entrance area), the is a large family television and game room. Across from the huge wall mounted television set is a long sofa / sofa bed. The room also has a classic ice cream parlor marble table with built in wooden seats that can be used for playing games or as a secondary dining table. There is also Legos for the children and a PacMan Arcade Machine. There is three bedrooms with comfortable queen size beds. There is also a full size sofa bed in the family room and a shorter sofa bed more suitable for children / youngsters is located in the main living room. Extra comforters, blankets, pillows and bedding are available in the hallway and bedroom cabinets. The property has one full bathroom (separate shower and bathtub) and one half bath. The Beach Studio guests also has access to the seating area next to the Deception Pass mural and the Star Wars TIE Fighter fire pit. The two latter areas are shared outdoor areas on the property next door, which also has two Airbnb units. Guest access Fossil Lane is a private road with access to only the people that live here. This is a very private low bank water front area. There is parking for three cars by the sliding glass door at the back of the house. Overflow parking is available down by the garage ( the building with the mural). Other things to note The location is very private and feels out of the way from civilization.
