Gilligan Cabin- Tiny House on the Beachfront
Perfect glamping spot! Our little cabin, Gilligan, is a stunning renovation featuring a studio setup with a comfy sleeper sofa, full bath & kitchenette with small fridge, sink, microwave, & electric induction hot plate. You also have access to a gas grill. Camp feels remote but is close to the town of Hardwick, as well as top VT attractions. You’ll love the lakeside setting & unique interior. Perfect for couples or solo adventurers. Dog friendly (see notes about pet fee below) Sorry-no cats. The space Gilligan was once the summer camp's swim shack. Given its proximity to the lake, as well as the stunning views, we decided that it needed to be reimagined as an accommodation for our guests. The interior is carefully thought out using a mix of new materials, upcycled materials (including the boards used for our colorful walls) and retro finishes. Gilligan is fully insulated/winterized and stays cool in the summer and cozy in the winter. The porch looks right out onto the lake and provide gorgeous sunsets views. The cabin has a very comfy and new fold out couch (not one of those old pull-out couches that you can feel the bars in your back!). Pillows, fresh sheets, comforter and clean sheets are provided. There is a full bathroom and kitchenette. We provide all you need to prepare a simple meal, including a small fridge/freezer, microwave, hot plate with frying pan, and a french press as well as plates, glasses, mugs, and utensils. Gilligan has its own gas grill outside the cabin during the high season (June to September), and access to a gas grill at the clubhouse all year round. Nestled in the woods of the Northeast Kingdom in Hardwick, VT, Camp Wapanacki was originally founded as the first camp for blind children in 1938. In the 1980's and 90's, it served as a camp for Girl Scouts. Purchased privately in 2014, Wapanacki now offers cabins available for rent on 230 acres with a private lake. Guest access Wapanacki is comprised of 250 acres of woodland, plus a 25 acre private lake for swimming and non-motorized boats. There are miles of trails to explore, perfect for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, and hiking and biking in the summer. Kayaks and canoes are available for all guests late spring to early fall. You will have access to a shared gas grill on the porch of the main clubhouse, located just down the road from your cabin. Gilligan also has its own gas grill just outside the cabin from late spring to early fall. The clubhouse porch has picnic tables late spring to early fall. This is also where our Wifi zone is located. The interior of the clubhouse is private and you will not have access. We have multiple fire pits on property, including a shared one just outside Gilligan. Other things to note We have multiple cabins for rent at Camp Wapanacki, so you may have the entire property to yourself, but other renters may be there too. Get in the camp spirit and say hello! If you are interested in coming with friends and renting more than one cabin, please let us know! NOTE: We do have a wifi "zone" on property but please be prepared to be unplugged while you are in your cabin. NOTE to those bringing DOGS: We do encourage you to bring your dog, but please note that we do have a fee of $100 per dog. We ask you to leave your pet fee in cash on departure. Sorry, we do not allow cats. For those who plan to snowshoe: Please stay on the snow while wearing snowshoes; do NOT attempt to walk on the stairs or porches of any building while wearing snowshoes or other shoe attachments with spikes such as “Yak Tracks”.
