Sittin Pretty Tiny House is perched up on Dach Ridge six miles out of Viroqua just off County NN offering lovely views across neighboring farm fields toward the western horizon. Surrounding woods with a walking trail give an intimate sense of the natural world. You are in the heart of Amish country and the goings and comings of their agrarian lives give a sense of another time. 1/4 mile walk down the road, at the nearest Amish neighbor, you can buy produce in season and eggs. The space The tiny home is just that: Tiny! 300 sq ft! However, lofty 10' ceilings and many windows give a spacious and sunny feeling upon stepping in. You'll have a snug feeling when climbing up the stairs to go to queen sized bed in the loft with only a 3' ceiling. Surrounded by windows on three sides, you'll have a good look out! The interior is covered in birch plywood, with walnut live edge shelving and custom made concrete kitchen counter and bathroom sink. The spacious shower is beautifully tiled with a marble floor and offers a relaxing rainfall shower head. A well furnished kitchen includes a convection oven, five burner gas stove top, pots and pans, silverware, utensils, dishes, cups and bowls. The water is from a 300 plus ft deep well. It’s what other folks that live on the property drink. Sittin Pretty Farm practices a caring stewardship so expect a clean and well cared for accommodations. Expect to hand wash your dishes. We reuse things like dish sponges, drying dish towels. Remember we are in the country so we sometimes encounter the occasional mouse and certainly bugs and flies have their season! Other things to note It should be noted that though we have established a reputation as a peaceful place to make a country retreat beginning in May 13 of 2022 we will be opening up our Friday night pizza nights out of the community building on the property. There may very well be crowds on the property from 4-9. The community building may also be rented on other days for other events such as group retreats, weddings, and fundraiser meals. Though your guest space will be respected your peace and quiet will likely be interrupted during these times. We hope you’ll take the opportunity to join us for some splendid wood fired sour dough pizza, a beer and wine bar and Amish pie all to live music as we fund raise for various non profits. We caution children and people with mobility challenges staying here only because of the stairs going up to the loft are not safe in terms of conventional buildings. Sit outside in our patio chairs around the fire ring. A Weber BBQ kettle grill is part of this scene with a charcoal chimney starter. Extras that may give your stay that extra nice touch: Stained glass lamp , Real Silverware setting for four, Fiestaware plates, soup mugs and cups/saucers, cloth napkins, Rainfall shower.
