(That's also the name of a band Nelson worked with) BARROW STREET COTTAGE "Tall ceilings welcome you to the large open-format living & dining area w/ all stainless, hardwoods, slate & black walnut fireplace, loads of natural sunlight & flatscreen. I created a comfy cottage that's also a modern fortress I think you will enjoy. This bright and sunny Athens home is very unique this close to town & UGA, yet it is surrounded by lush green space, delightful neighbors, and hip coffee shops and watering holes. It's a small-town cottage feel on the outside and fully furnished in comfort inside, yet fully modern. This little dreamboat house is Ideal for football season, graduation & other special UGA events or North Georgia vacations. Also, it usually books up early (in Feb for Fall football season), so book now. This is a small but luxury modern Dwell-style 3 bedroom custom-designed home in the shell of a quaint Craftsman cottage unique to downtown Athens, Georgia & the UGA area. We are just a block or two from the best restaurants, nightclubs, University of Georgia's UGA campus & all of downtown. You can expect the very best of in-town luxury with fine attention to detail. This home is left cleaner than most any hotel room for only the most discerning travel guests. In fact most of our return guests say they come back year after year, not for the modern amenities they have at home but for the convenience of location and for how clean it is after our cleaning crew leaves. As you can see this home is designed with an eye for modern and minimalist detail yet with cozy bedrooms and living areas and also in a quaint Historic neighborhood just steps away from downtown Athens (literally 3 blocks walk) & the campus of The University of Georgia (UGA), as well as the Medical School Of Georgia. 9 restaurants are within a 1 to 2 block walk. Bars & coffee shops abound also of course. The Master... (sleeps 2) has a mission style antique expanded queen and a large walk-in closet. French doors also lead to a private back coffee deck for two, while many large windows provide lots of sunlight. The roomy all-stone master bath has a double vanity, two (2) stone showers, a tub, toilet and a modern French bidet. Guest Bedroom 2... (can sleep 3) has a brand new for 2019 double bunk bed which sleeps two (2) adults down below (seriously this brand new mattress is the "Jenna" from Modway, one of these new-millenium mattress companies, but not one of those all foam things- this is one comfy inner-spring mattress with just a cozy thin layer of quilted memory foam on top- it's really a treat and sleep so well). Also as part of the double bunk is a comfy top bunk perfect for one little one or teen (or adult under 160ob). It has a shared bath with bedroom 3. Guest bedroom 3 (sleeps 2) has a modern sleek Crate & Barrel queen bed with a quilted top 10inch mattress, lots of light and shares a jack-n-jill bathroom with bedroom 2. We can sleep 6 and only 6, unless the 7th is a child (or under 160lbs in the top bunk), in these two (2) queen beds and twin+ double bunks, plus one or two infants or toddlers maximum. You may inquire about an agreement in writing for parties larger than 6. We also have a pack-n-play available for those with an infant or small toddler, just ask. We'll be happy to have it set up and ready for you. We have a WALK SCORE of 89! (at the walk score website), which means EVERYTHING you could need is within walking distance from this charming edge-of-downtown neighborhood including 85+ pubs, restaurants, & coffee shops. Gift shops, Bike trails, mapped distance-cycling loops, 5k & 10k run courses, jogging trails, bicycling neighborhoods, the Historic district of BLVD, the tour of homes routes, The State of Georgia Botanical Gardens, bird watching trails of Sandy Creek Nature Center, the beach & swimming & fishing lake at Sandy Creek Park and their frisbee golf course, the public pool at Bishop park, 3 top golf courses, the walking tour of Athens Music History.
