Our house, affectionately named The Pink House, is a 1950s farm house, bungalow style. A recent face lift has given her interior a contemporary open feel. It is located just minutes from historic downtown Marshall, between Hot Springs and the city of Asheville, North Carolina. The house sits on a quiet branch road with mountain views and plenty of stars. Close to many outdoor adventures and entertainment. The space The Pink House is located across the street from the Ruby Roost, a 56 acre farm with poultry and water fowl where you can enjoy the farm life, wildlife, 'duck TV' by the ponds, or wander the pastures and forest. It is also conveniently located close to the city of Asheville, minutes from the French Broad river, and only a 20 minute drive from the Appalachian Trail on the way to Hot Springs. For outdoor enthusiasts, the options are endless: white water rafting, zip lining, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, the Appalachian Trail, Hot Springs mineral baths and more. The surrounding area offers plenty of local music, fine arts and crafts, antiquing, music festivals, and dancing. There is also an abundance of great local foods, craft beers, and several national breweries for tasting opportunities. Our place is great for anyone looking to get away for peace and quiet in the mountains, while still being convenient to unlimited social and outdoor activities. Guest access The whole upper level of the house including the front and back porches are available to guests. The basement apartment is currently occupied by a young man who works on the farm. Ducks and chickens live by of the side of the house, so caretakers move about the yard and outdoor spaces. Other things to note High speed fiber optic internet from French Broad Electric is available. Verizon phone service works the best but service can be spotty.
