It's also the place immortalized in Washington Irving's stories of colonial America, and for good reason - the land is breathtaking. A 5-minute drive from Copake Lake, the house is equidistant to Hudson, Great Barrington, and Millerton. The closest trains are the Amtrak station in Hudson and the Metro North in Wassaic. Nearby attractions include the antique shops and arts-and-crafts scene in Hudson, as well as its many organic farms and the local horse farm. Drive into Great Barrington for music and performing arts. In colder weather, visit the Catamount Ski Resort in Hillsdale to take in famous local skiing trails. Guest access OWNERS' POLICY: Guests are kindly requested to remain on the east side of the property and avoid entering the main house on the west side without prior permission. You are welcome to explore any of the trails, the area around the pond, and the Zen garden. However, access to the property's teahouse building is permitted only with permission from the owner.
