Boasting stunning views of the Mount Agung, Bali's most sacred landscape, the lush Sidemen Valley with its terraced rice paddies, designed by the family of Italian fashion designer Emilio Pucci , my house will help you escape the crowd, find beauty, peace, inspiration like many visiting artists before and experience the traditional Balinese island life. I hope I can have the pleasure of welcoming in my tranquil, authentic haven in one of Bali's last preserved paradises. The space Originally built by Idanna Pucci - niece of Emilio Pucci and noted writer on Balinese culture - and her husband Terence Ward who when they started a love affair with Bali and Indonesia in the 1970's looked for their special haven. When they stumbled on the villa's current location, they were immediately drawn to the energy and mystical power Bali's most venerated mountain was radiating in the background. During construction, they committed themselves to only use indigenous materials in the construction of the villa, the walls were made of volcanic stone sourced from the nearby Unda River, while the structure of the building was covered with an underpinning sheath of woven bamboo sheets and exterior terracotta tiles, the architecture was quintessential Balinese, with spaces open to nature and others secluded, where comfort and tranquility would be celebrated. Today the house still stands strong, still in remarkable condition, having been cared for throughout the years. As the new recent owner, I am now committed to maintaining its legacy, hoping to pass it to the next generation. I have lived in Bali for many years and in my humble opinion, there are not many places that capture so well, with their design, environment, and local affable villagers, the quintessential Balinese spirit. Our villa is 300 sqm in size, sitting on 2000 sqm of land and comprises two spacious en-suite bedrooms, a children's room, library, 20-meter pool, outdoor seating areas and is serviced by an in-residence team of cook, housekeeper, and a butler. Daily breakfast and Indonesian dinner are provided, with lunch prepared on request. (please note that we make it a point of not using artificial flavoring or any taste enhancers). Traditional Balinese spa treatments, tours, bike rentals etc...can also be arranged. Guest access You will have full and exclusive access to the property, we only rent to ONE party only. Other things to note Please note that we do not have a TV (I think it is not needed in our house), we also do not use AC as the region is much cooler than other parts of the island. Please bare with us as our choice of dishes is traditional Balinese and Indonesian (we have a few western options), yet we use the freshest ingredients we can find, often from our garden or just from the fields in front of our house.
