With a huge covered porch overlooking the quiet, non-motor lake, this warm and elegantly decorated house is the perfect getaway for pure peace. The space Originally built as a Swedish Pavilion for the 1939 World Trade Fair, this beautiful cottage features two fireplaces, a well-equipped open-plan kitchen, and a dining table that seats 8. All rooms have large windows with beautiful forest and lake views, with French doors leading out to the porch where you'll find a BBQ grill and picnic tables. The house offers two large bedrooms, two bathrooms (one newly remodeled), and an additional room with a sleeping loft. Our private dock equipped with 2 kayaks and a rowboat offers fishing for bass, relaxing on the water, or watching salamanders, geese, and beavers. Hiking trails meander back behind the house, and there's a book and DVD library, TV, and DVD player to entertain indoors. Guest access Guests are provided with bath and hand towels, bed sheets, blankets, and pillows, as well as cookware, silverware, and cooking utensils in the fully equipped kitchen. Our private underground well provides clean and chlorine-free water. We provide a BBQ but we do not guarantee the propane tank will be full. The nearest gas station can exchange it. Other things to note Please note, the road in is unpaved and rocky, and the lake is not ideal for swimming. Cell phone service is limited to ATT, and there are five houses on the private lake, so please respect the neighbors by avoiding smoking, parties, fireworks, and loud music.
