Take a break and unwind at this peaceful oasis. This Delightful Surprise is "a hidden gem" on a secluded street and yet right downtown. It's within walking distance to the best restaurants, 3 of which are right around the corner! Don't panic if the address doesn't show up on a map, Lewisburg has a habit of changing addresses! The space The house itself is a quaint but older bungalow which has been totally renovated. This said, there are a few quirky things which cannot be changed! On the main floor is a living/dining/kitchen area, one of the bedrooms (complete with a slightly slanted floor) and (the only) bath. Downstairs is the second bedroom and a large laundry area with plenty of light. Upstairs there are two rooms used as studies. Because this was later added, they simply are best used in the winter, spring and fall. Also this area cannot be used for extra sleeping accommodations. The staircase to this area has been "grandfathered" in. Simply put, this isn't an area I'm willing to offer for this purpose. This is also why we don't allow children unless they are a true newborn or an adult child. The house itself is designed to be gender neutral, featuring antiques, neat art, comfortable furniture, and great linens. We try to keep most anything you have forgotten on hand and the location simply cannot be beat!! We would love host you and welcome any questions you might have! Guest access There is parking for one car directly in front of the house, free parking on Foster St. and a city parking lot within walking distance. There is a code lock on the front door and a second combination lock just in case something happens. We have extras of necessary items in case you may have forgotten yours. Help yourself if needed. Hairdryers are in the top drawer of each dresser. Extra towels are in the dresser or placed throughout the guest rooms. Other things to note A few details about this precious cottage. Although totally renovated, this is an old cottage that has a few quirky things which simply cannot be changed. The floor slants in the main floor bedroom. And if you are looking for an extra sleeping space in the loft/study rooms of this house, this house isn't for you. The study areas are accessed by a steep staircase that has been "grandfathered" in. Simply put....it's not practical to offer this area as extra sleeping quarters and it's not a liability that I'm willing to risk!!! You might also see that the bedrooms are on different floors. For these reasons, this house simply isn't suited for children unless they are a true newborn or an adult. Also note that prices reflect regular rental rates and not rates for special event times (WV State Fair, golf tournaments, commencement weekends, TOOT or other such events). We try to change prices as dates of events are announced, but know that this isn't always possible. We've worked hard on this house and want to be one of the best rentals available. We pay special attention to linens, the house is maintained beautifully and the location cannot be beat. We do ask if there is an issue of any kind that you reach out immediately!
