This modern contemporary tropical home is located in the hills of Caceres on a 5 acre finca full of tropical trees, birds, and a manicured grounds. Outdoor gas and charcoal barbecue off of back patio with vertical herb garden for perfect relaxation retreat. The space Guests are able to enjoy the entire 2,000 sq ft home and private pool (not fenced) off the back patio. Home also has high speed WI-Fi , Smart TV, AC in all 4 bedrooms, "open-concept" central living area (no AC) with screened metal doors that fully open to furnished outdoor patio, outdoor kitchen and private pool a few steps away, hot water, and a bottled water cooler. The home comfortably accommodates 9 guests on the main floor and has a sitting area in the upstairs loft area. For those who enjoy cooking, the house has a full indoor kitchen and a new outdoor kitchen on the back patio that features an Argentinian charcoal barbecue, separate gas bbq, gas stove burners, and table for 8. Situated above the pool area is a yoga-meditation platform or area for hanging hammocks and enjoying the sunset over the valley. The pool is perfect for swimming year round as the temperatures range from 75 to 85 degrees summer and winter. Panama is completing their above ground rail metro that will connect us to the city and airport in 2026, and new freeway system in 2025. Traffic is an issue in most of Central America and working around rush hour is advisable. After leaving the city and crossing the canal you will travel for 15 minutes through the "watershed" jungle area of the canal which is left for capturing water for the canal. Our property is located in the first town past the watershed area. Renting a car is advisable, taxis and Uber are plentiful, or I can suggest a private van transfer that will pick you up and be your guide during your stay. Guest access The property is ideal for guests who want to visit Panama's attractions, but return back to a tropical oasis to swim and relax in nature away from the hectic city. Best suited for those who love nature and experiencing the typical life of Panama while enjoying bird watching, yoga, strolling around the 5 acre property with its variety of tropical plants and trees, or relaxing by the private pool (not fenced). This is a private finca in a typical Panamanian neighborhood and not a resort area so you will be able to experience life in a Latin neighborhood. On weekends, the baseball diamond above the hill has its weekly game, you will hear fireworks at times in celebration of a goal or birthday, and buy bread or fruit from the vendor that passes by the lane everyday. A new addition is a yoga/meditation platform that has amazing hilltop views. Guests also have an outdoor kitchen which features an Argentinian style charcoal barbecue among other amenities. This property is located in the first town outside of Panama City at the juncture of the Freeway 1 and 4. There is a lot of construction (2021-2025) in Panama with the rail metro and new freeways under construction. The freeway is redirected in the mornings to all lanes from our on-ramp flow toward the city and all lanes flow back this direction in the afternoons. Panama City is growing and we are dedicated, along with several of our neighbors, to keep our large properties as havens for the wildlife that is being displaced. We have several species of birds, parrots, parakeets, Tamarin monkeys, and iguanas. Other things to note NO SMOKING in the home, ONLY outside House is suitable for children, but POOL IS NOT FENCED and parents need to assume responsibility NO PETS except under special request ONLY REGISTERED GUESTS ALLOWED ON PROPERTY. If guests request visitors during their stay, please notify us to request special permission. If guests have extended family in the area please ask permission to have other vehicles enter the property. Private entrance gate is locked in PM - if planning on entering after midnight, please give us advanced notice. NO loud music after 12 AM - be respectful to neighbors. Bi-weekly housekeeping is provided - more service can be provided if desired. Water and electrical outages do occur occasionally in Panama and we do our best to eliminate these issues. We now have our own well, reserve tanks, and a generator to keep your stay uninterrupted. The house is designed with an open-concept and the screened back sliding doors open up the back wall into the furnished patio and pool area. The main living area of the home is NOT air conditioned, but each of the bedrooms DO have their own split AC units. Due to the high cost and demand of electricity in Central America, we appreciate being energy conscience and turning off AC units when leaving for outings. Compost bucket is located in the kitchen and the maid will empty it into our composting area. If you can separate tin cans, we also recycle these. The water is safe to drink throughout Panama, but we do have a water cooler with bottles that can be refilled. There are 2 outdoor dogs on the 5 acre property and 1 outdoor cat which live by the main house. This property is located in the first town outside of Panama City (20 minutes NON-rush hour) at the juncture of the Freeway 1 and 4. There is a lot of construction (2021-2025) in Panama with the rail metro and new freeways under construction. The freeway is redirected in the mornings to all lanes from our on-ramp flow toward the city and all lanes flow back this direction in the afternoons. If you are interested in the nightlife scene, you would be better off staying within the city. This property is better suited for guests that want to relax in nature after a day of sightseeing and enjoy the experience of a typical Panamanian town. Many of our guests are families, groups of friends, or multigenerational families that enjoy hanging out together, cooking in the outdoor kitchen, and enjoying a glass of wine on the yoga platform at sunset.
