Your mountain adventure awaits at Saltbox, an inviting, eclectic home at Wintergreen Resort in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Combining modern and vintage decor, plus original art, Saltbox was designed to provide escape, inspiration and fun. Nestled at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac drive, with beautiful woods to explore, it's just seconds from the Resort (skiing, tubing, hiking, dining, spa, outdoor movies and more)! Saltbox is the perfect home base for your next getaway, any time of year! The space Saltbox backs to the woods, so you can hike right from the back yard! In the warmer months, chill out on the deck, surrounded by lush trees, and get lost in the sounds of the birds and other wildlife. Autumn brings fantastic colors, and when the leaves fall, they give way to mountain views and gorgeous sunsets behind the house. It's beautiful and tranquil, no matter when you visit! We fell in love with Saltbox the moment we walked in. It is such a unique layout: open and communal, but also cozy and private; retro and modern; whimsical and fun! We want you to feel truly at home and use the space however it works for you. You'll find flexible sleeping options, extra tables and chairs, plus lots of extra supplies and gadgets so you don't have to pack everything you own. Take a look at the amenity list, and if you have any questions about specific items, don't hesitate to reach out! There's a lot to love about this place, but here are a few things we want to call out (please check out the photos and captions for even more details!): We’ve made special considerations for our littlest guests: baby gates, anchored TVs, outlet covers, cabinet locks, nightlights, a white noise machine, blackout curtains, step stools for the bathrooms and kitchen, a booster seat with tray, a chalkboard in the kitchen, and some fun toys downstairs in the family room. Use (or don’t use) whatever makes you feel safe and relaxed. We love coffee! The kitchen is equipped with a regular drip coffee pot, a Keurig, a ceramic pour-over, and a French press. Filters provided. Kitchen note: The house did not have a full-size oven when we bought it, so we added a countertop convection oven -- the biggest one we could find! It is quite spacious -- you can cook 2 frozen pizzas at once, bake a chicken, roast veggies, etc. -- but it's probably not big enough for a holiday turkey. :) Both TVs are smart TVs with built-in apps so you can enjoy popular streaming services, like Prime Video, Netflix and Disney+. We also have a great DVD collection with some awesome throw-back favorites! We also provide toys, books, and games. Whether you're watching a movie or just hanging out, there is nothing more relaxing than spending time in the family room, with its large windows and amazing views all around! *Please note: Saltbox is a privately-owned home and is not affiliated with Wintergreen Resort. Some Resort amenities, notably the indoor pool and fitness center, are for members only, and we are not members. The aquatics and fitness membership is very restrictive in that it provides no guest passes, so even if we were members, our guests would not have access. Lame! Fortunately, membership status has no bearing on access to the Mountain Inn, skiing, tubing, the Adventure Center, spa, etc. All of these amenities are open to the public! Also, in the summer, our guests have access to two great pools through our HOA. One is on the mountain at Chestnut Springs. This location includes a heated pool, playground, and a nice, enclosed picnic area. The other pool is located in the valley at Rhodes Farm. This location includes the pool, tennis courts, playground, pickleball, horseshoes, archery, and a fishing pond. We can't wait to host you at Saltbox! Guest access As our guests, you have the whole house to yourselves, inside and out. The house is equipped with a lockbox. Check in at your leisure, and make yourself at home!
