Stargazy is directly opposite the slipway onto the beach – less than a minute’s walk! Tucked away peacefully, at the back of the property, there are 3 bedrooms comprised of one master en suite with superking bed; one kingsize and one twin room. Opposite the master is a small bedroom with bunkbeds. Directly opposite Stargazy, the golden sands of Bigbury-on-Sea beach will keep the whole family entertained. Take a ride across to Burgh Island on the famous sea tractor, try your hand at windsurfing or indulge in an al fresco lunch at the beach café. Golfers will love the renowned Bigbury Golf Club just up the road. Surrounded by coastal paths and with beautiful harbour towns like Dartmouth and Salcombe nearby, Stargazy is the ideal base for exploring the South Hams. Stargazy is a single story beach house, accessed by way of a set of steps to the side of the building. This house is not suitable for anyone who struggles with steps, nor any pre-school children. At the rear of the house, there is an outdoor shower for rinsing off sandy feet after a day on the beach. There is also a small shed with the key safe on the wall within. Step out of the house and up a few steps to the first terrace – a landscape architect designed space with olive trees and seating. Walk through banks of rosemary and herbs, up a curving staircase of oak sleepers to the top deck. The top deck is what sets Stargazy apart from any other property in the village. A wonderful deck with a giant L shaped outdoor sofa (seats 9), coffee table, long teak table and 10 chairs but more impressive than anything – The Stargazy Arms! Your own bar with the best view in the South Hams. Take a seat on one of the 6 tall wicker stools and enjoy a chilled drink while one of your guests plays bartender. There is an under-counter fridge, a freezer for ice, optics on the wall, a wine rack. The Stargazy Arms is stocked with gin, vodka, rum, soft drinks and there is an honesty bar for anything you use. Wifi, a dart board and a Sonos speaker make sure everyone is occupied and there is a charcoal BBQ and plenty of cushions in the spacious shed.
