Retreat from everyday life in our 2 bedroom, renovated riverfront home, located just minutes from everything on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Surrounded by nature, RRR provides all the comforts of home including all new appliances and a fully stocked kitchen in a relaxing, peaceful setting that allows time to stand still. Stretch out on the sectional or sit on the deck & watch the river roll by. A short drive brings you to town or stay put, relax & enjoy, kayaks, smores, fishing and more! The space Rustic River Retreat is our updated and remodeled Riverfront Cabin. It has 2 bedrooms, one bathroom and room for 4-6 guests (ideal for 4). NO PARTIES Many amenities are provided to help our guests enjoy their visit: 1st morning breakfast options: waffles, oatmeal or grits with coffee, (drip, keurig or french press,) tea, sugar and creamer, spices and pantry staples paper products: toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags cleaning supplies: dish soap, laundry soap toiletries and many other items all designed to help our guests enjoy their time at Rustic River Retreat. The Bedrooms are furnished with new queen beds, night stands, smart TV's, lamps and coastal decor. Our cozy living room area is furnished with a queen size sleeper sectional sofa, reading chair, desk, ottoman, coffee table and 42” flat screen smart tv with internet access for streaming. (NO CABLE TV) The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances you’d expect at home and the dining table seats 8. There is also a table in the kitchen that can seat up to 8. If you want to have a dinner party or bbq please notify us in advance as we have very strict insurance regulations to adhere to. The deck has a dining table and 4 chairs, tower heater and large cantilevered umbrella. This area overlooks our oak tree covered back yard (Riverfront.) Downstairs has multiple seating/entertainment areas, swing, fire pit, hammock and an assortment of outdoor activities. There are multiple spaces to relax and enjoy a morning cup of coffee or cold beverages after a day of adventuring! There are multiple outdoor audio/video cameras on our property utilized for security & safety purposes and to ensure guests are following the house rules. (NO PARTIES) DO NOT TAMPER WITH THE CAMERAS!! Guest access The entire space is available to guests(minus the garage). Our home is your home while you are there! NO PARTIES We live in the home when we are not traveling, so there are a few items of ours located throughout the home. Downstairs there is a garage area that is off limits to guests. Please do not disturb any of these items. Our property is protected with 7 exterior audio/video security cameras. NO unregistered guests or PARTIES. If you wish to have a gathering please contact us prior to booking as the property makes a great place for gatherings of 10 or less. Other things to note Mother Nature controls the weather and uninvited visitors. The home is professionally treated for the unwelcome visitors (bugs), but please remember we are in the woods, on the water in South Mississippi. So bugs, mosquitoes, the occasional spider or roach might make an appearance. We do not issue refunds for bugs! Rustic River Retreat was built in the 60's and is an original tongue and groove pine "camp" structure that we have modified to create our familie's vacation home. If you have severe seasonal allergies please take note: dust is present, it is impossible to keep it out! The house is located under a canopy of Oak, Sycamore, Willow, and Crepe Myrtle trees. There are window AC units and baseboard heaters in each room. Multiple ceiling fans throughout the home and new insulation in the entire ceiling. However during the heat of the summer, June-August, it can get warm inside the house if the doors are opened regularly while people come and go. We lived in the house the entire summer of 2020 while remodeling and only had a couple of uncomfortable days due to construction requiring open doors. There is a chance of localized flooding on the Pascagoula River during the rainy season & we have no way of knowing much in advance, if or when a flood will occur. There is a camera under the house that is used to monitor the river levels. If we have to cancel your reservation due to flooding we will provide a 100% refund. We keep close tabs on the weather & would let you know as soon as we know about river stages that would affect your stay at Rustic River Retreat. With that said we highly recommend no small cars or low to the ground vehicles at Rustic River Retreat.
