THE PROPERTY Bedroom 1: 1 Queen Bed plus a full size Sofa Bed ideal for 2 extra kids below 12 years old for an additional rate of $25 per person, per night. Bedroom 2: 1 Queen Bed. The unit has one bathroom with shower and tub. The 'Hawaiian Dream Temple' is your best choice for taking your vacation to the next level of serenity as you relax and unwind on the large wrap-around deck in your own private hot tub and admire the tropical flowers and vibrant fauna. Listening to the birds while relaxing on the lanai will be your favorite part of the day. Perfect for romantic and private honeymoons, the interior is constructed of all hand woven bamboo, and with an open air plan, the ceilings and walls allow for tropical breezes to flow throughout the home. The living room is a vaulted Asian style ceiling and the kitchen is fully appointed with appliances and cooking utensils, basic cooking condiments, as well as tea, coffee and local fruits and snacks. Both bedrooms have queen-sized beds and a private lanai (Hawaiian for deck) with beautiful seating areas for morning relaxation or evening reading. The bathroom has an over-sized, deep Jacuzzi tub, plus a shower. The homeowners welcome you with Aloha and are passionate about creating a special space for your precious time away from it all! THE LOCATION The cottage is completely private and very much separated from the main house. You have your own large yard, private gated driveway and parking area. Situated away from the commercial and 'touristy' areas in the 'Upcountry' of Tropical Haiku, you'll be close to waterfalls, hiking trails, zip lining adventures, horseback riding, cycling routes, and Haleakala crater. If you're interested in enjoying activities close to home, inquire about hiking to a local waterfall or participating in sound healing sessions with the on-site manager, Guia. The community pool is also available when you prefer to relax by the water. The cottage is a 15-minute drive to the closest beaches, the quaint surf town of Paia, and 10 minutes from the upcountry town of Makawao. Even closer is the world famous Ho'okipa beach with its legendary surf break and some of the best windsurfing, kite boarding, & surfing in Hawaii. You don’t need to walk anywhere to experience the stunning beauty as you drive along the 'Road to Hana' (Highway 360) for fabulous views of the world famous Maui coastline. We really enjoyed our stay!" - Ashley & Kevin, Michigan Guest access As a guest of the cottage, the owner has graciously extended the use of his family pool so you'll have shared access to the amazing 40-foot fresh water swimming pool - located just a quick 3 minute walk down the driveway next to the owner's main house (with five other residents). Designed with an Asian theme in mind, this tropical pool oasis has palm trees swaying in the breeze, creating the perfect place to let your stresses slip away. A lava rock waterfall gurgles next to a shaded balinese meditation gazebo that overlooks a bridge that spans the deep end and 1-foot-deep swimming moats for small kids. Pool is available for use/share from 10 am to 6 pm but the hot tub beside the pool is for owner's private use only. The guests have their own private hot tub at their unit. DISCLAIMER: It is not a private pool but a shared pool with other residents of the main house so there are other residents who will be using the pool occasionally. There is no lifeguard on duty so for liability and safety the pool water slide is not for use of guests. Other things to note FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN: If your reservation includes children, we ask that you respect our home and space and cleanliness of the cottage. Please have children eat and drink in the dining area to avoid sticky fingers and spills throughout the home. At check-out we ask that you leave the cottage in the manner in which you received it. ANTS AND OTHER INSECTS: Ants, mosquitoes, spiders, geckos/lizards and other insects are very common in the tropics. Please don't leave food out or leave the doors wide open. Make sure to wipe off counters and floors of any crumbs or spills right away. There are plenty of sealed containers, ziplocks, trash bags provided to keep food away and dispose of trash properly. Do not leave the doors open for a long time. There are also mosquito and other insect sprays provided and are located in the bathroom's medicine cabinet and under the kitchen sink. DISCLAIMER: You will be staying at place surrounded by thick tall trees and vegetation in a tropical and humid environment.
