Trails End - Retro Catskills Cabin w/ Hot Tub
Located in the heart of the Great Northern Catskills and surrounded by forest for complete privacy, Trails End is the perfect retreat for a weekend (or longer!) getaway. At Trails End, you can wander through woods, recover from a day of hiking or skiing next to a wood-burning stove, stargaze from the hot tub, and experience a lot of peace and quiet, knowing that civilization - in the form of the colorful mountain town of Tannersville - is not too far away if you need it. The space Trails End is an all seasons retreat with many activities within a 5-15 minute drive, including: * Colgate Lake - a lovely swimming, fishing, and kayaking lake (5 minutes) * Hunter Mountain - one of New York's top ski resorts with over 60 runs and hiking trails (10 minutes) * Kaaterskill Falls - one of New York's highest waterfalls with swimming spots and hiking trails (10 minutes) * North-South Lake - a larger swimming and boating lake with hiking trails (10 minutes) * Windham Mountain - another popular ski resort with over 50 runs (15 minutes) ...and so much more!! Trails End comes well equipped with all the essentials you need for a comfortable stay! The kitchen is fully stocked with a large fridge, electric stove, toaster oven, coffee maker, dishwasher, microwave, and all the pots and pans and utensils you will need. The dining table is set up for 6 but additional chairs are available for larger groups. The cabin has three comfortably-sized bedrooms and two bathrooms. Towels and bed linens are provided. The cabin has high speed WiFi and there are workspaces in all bedrooms plus a separate office. A washer + dryer is in the office and available to use. There is a large TV in the main living area with an Apple TV. For music, there are speakers with a bluetooth connection or you can pick from a selection of records and spin some tunes on the record player. Outside on the deck there is a Weber grill and gas fire pit. A hot tub is located off of the deck. The cabin is fully powered and heated by electricity and currently doesn't have a backup generator. There is a wood stove for additional heating. There is no A/C but tower and table fans are in the bedrooms. The cabin is situated on 2.5 acres of mainly forested property. The woods directly behind and to the right (if you're facing the cabin) are part of the property and yours to explore. Please note that the forest location means that there are creatures and critters large and small in the surrounding area. While the cabin is thoroughly cleaned between guests and additional measures have been taken to reduce the chance that critters such as insects and mice show up inside, a critter-free cabin can't be guaranteed. Guests can do their part to further reduce the risk of uninvited visitors by appropriately managing trash, not leaving windows and doors open, and not leaving food out. However, the cabin may not be a fit for those extremely phobic of wildlife. The cabin is pet friendly and there is an additional fee for non-service animal guests. There are two outdoor cameras for cabin security, one above the front door and one in the driveway. There are no cameras inside. The nearby town of Tannersville has restaurants, shops (including a grocery store and liquor store) and a gas station. Windham and Hunter are other nearby towns. Please make sure to review in detail the guest manual that will be sent to you following booking for cabin rules, instructions, and recommendations! Guest access Guests will have access to the whole cabin and property. There is parking available for 4+cars. It is highly recommended that you have your own vehicle, and a vehicle with AWD and good tires if you're visiting in the winter. The cabin is not within walking distance of a town and there is limited ride hailing service in the area. Trails End is a part-time home for the host so there may be personal items at the backs of closets and in the office dresser.
