LESS THAN 2 HOURS from the DC area, our cabin is nestled on a stunning 6 mountainous acres. Bordering the George Washington National Forest, it is perfect for total seclusion and relaxation! Lounge by the large brick fireplace, sip wine on the huge bed swing, roast marshmallows by the fire pit and take in the amazing long-range views, or explore the local favorites, including the many caverns, wineries & hiking trails in the area. Important things to know before you book: There will be 1 mile of gravel road to access our cabin. Our cabin is located in the mountains. Very low clearance vehicles such as sports cars may have difficulty on the gravel roads. During the winter months our main roads are salted and cleared of snow. However, during rare snowy conditions 4WD is recommended to access the cabin as our driveway is not plowed unless snowfall is above 4". 4WD is not needed in normal conditions. Our main roads are very well maintained. Our cabin is in the woods and thereby surrounded by a variety of wildlife; perhaps even a bear or two. With this in mind, guests must carefully clean up the kitchen every night and securely package all food to prevent pests inside the cabin. A garbage bin enclosure is located outside the cabin. Please leave all trash bags inside the trash bin, and always ensure the garbage bin is closed. Due to abundant wildlife, no trash should be left anywhere outside. Small pets may be permitted on a case-by-case basis with a $100 pet fee to be paid at the time of booking with pre-approval. Please send us a message including a photo, age, and relevant details about your pet, knowing that all four-legged friends must be well-trained and must never be left alone in the cabin or on the property at any time. Quiet hours are 9pm to 6am which are dictated by county ordinance. Fireworks are also prohibited by county ordinance.
